Tools and Hardware Reviews of Duracraft DWM250 2-1/2-Gallon Warm-Mist Humidifier

Customer Review: Good Humidifier
Summary: 4 Stars

I've been using this for over a month and am very happy with it. It quickly increases the humidity levels in my room and - being a warm mist humidifier - does it with out making the room cold. It's reliable and the price is great.

Customer Review: Good for small rooms
Summary: 4 Stars

As I stated in a review of a bigger, evaporative style (fan forced vs. warm mist) humidifier, there is no perfect, portable humidity delivering device on the market today....from any manufacturer. They all have their limitations and all require regular maintenance.
This warm mist humidifier works well in a small room but would be overtaxed in larger spaces. It's quiet, a little gurgling when the water enters the heating chamber, and as far as it's tank capacity it does only hold about a gallon of water but will last the night on low. Try lifting 2.5 gals of liquid and you'll probably appreciate the smallish tank size.
Recommended for small bedrooms, just remember it emits steam and children love to stick their faces in humidifier vapor.

Customer Review: Good for the price. Not long lasting but does the job
Summary: 4 Stars

Warm mist humidifiers are self sterilizing and don't leave mineral dust over everything. This unit works very effectively but it is nowhere close to being 2.5 gallon size so it has to be refilled often. But there is an advantage in that-throwing out the old remaining water in the base stretches the cleaning time. The best way to clean is quite warm vinegar, let sit for an hour or two, and scrape with an old wood Popsicle stick. The stick is hard enough to help remove deposits but not hard enough to damage the plastic. The 2 power choice is handy.
These don't last more than 2 or 3 years before refusing to operate. But they are cheap so just buy a new one.

Customer Review: Good humidifier, good price
Summary: 4 Stars

I like this humidifier and I like it's price.
I like that is has high and low settings. I like that it auto shuts off when it runs out of water. I like that it doesn't have a filter (which is why I had to get a new humidifier). I like that the tank stands on the counter so I can fill it (another problem with my previous humidifier). I like that there's a handle on the bottom of the tank. I like how quiet it is.
I'm taking advice I read somewhere and using a Brita filter for the water I put into the humidifier.
I wish the off-med-hi knob was a little bigger.

Customer Review: Good humidity- poor quality
Summary: 2 Stars

I had 2 of these. The first one came straight out of the box with a leak in the water reservoir. Exchanged that for another one. The second one lasted maybe a year? I used it only when the family was ill, so maybe 20 times? It completely stopped heating. It lights up, but doesn't do anything else. I'd stay away from this model.
