Tools and Hardware Reviews of Duracraft DY-012 Oscillating 3-Speed Tower FanCustomer Review: Good product but the screws were missing Summary: 3 Stars
This is a really good fan for the price one's paying. It works well, isn't very noisy and good for cooling small rooms. The only issue I had with this fan was that the screws used to attach the fan to its stand were missing. Upon contacting the customer care they offered to reimburse or exchange it. I found it too cumbersome to send the whole package (btw the packaging is huge) back and wait for a new one. So I bought the screws in a hardware shop for about a dollar. If it wasn't for the missing screws I probably would have given it 5 stars.
Customer Review: Good tower fan Summary: 4 Stars
Purchased this fan almost a year ago from Amazon. It blows really cool air even on a hot summer day. Good replacement for A/C if outside temperature is less than 95. It was very quiet until couple of weeks ago. Now after couple of hours of use it's making some noises. That is only reason for giving it 4 stars, otherwise it's a very good fan. Yet to contact the manufacturer for repair/replacement. Hope the warranty will be honored.
Customer Review: Good tower fan Summary: 4 Stars
Nice compact size and quiet fan. Air flow is a bit less than our other tower, but it is much quieter.
Customer Review: Good value for the price but... Summary: 4 Stars
While I think the fan works well for the lost cost of the unit but I really wish I had just spent the extra money on a better unit. The power is okay but weaker than most square box fans. Also, not having a remote is really an inconvenience, especially since it does not have a sleep mode. If you want a good fan that's a real space saver and is inexpensive, I'd recommend the DY-012
Customer Review: Good, Space-Saving, Unobtrusive Fan Summary: 4 Stars
I was looking for a quiet, unobtrusive fan to sit in a corner; one that didn't take up too much space. I looked closely at this one, and the Lasko 42" Wind Curve with Remote. I finally decided on this one because I thought 42" might be too tall. I thought the Lasko looked better when I was shopping (and I liked that it had a remote), but I do like the fact that the Duracraft is all-white, which helps to make it less noticeable.
It's easy to assemble (three screws to attach the base using a Phillips screwdriver, then thread the power cord through plastic fingers to keep it in the right place). It's quiet, and pushes enough air for me, even on low speed, for a bedroom or living room. If I were looking for a fan for a shop or garage I would probably get something else. I can't speak on durability because I haven't had it that long.
I do think it's slightly overpriced (at the time I purchased it), and for that reason gave it four stars rather than five.
