I can say that the quality of the product seems to be really good. I am not sure how long they last. The ones that came originally on my vacuum lasted me for about a year. My Cougar sucks now and that's a good thing!
After installing these replacement filters, my Cougar Vacuum has all the power it had the first day I plugged it in. I clean my Kozi pellet stove weekly and occasionally vacum out the inside of my Country Comfort wood stove fireplace insert. The Love-Less Cougar makes easy work of the chore and the filters make the vacuum work like new. Just remember to wait until all the ash is cool. I had picked up some hot ash and that ruined the original filters.

Customer Review: Manufacturer's replacements for Loveless

This is the manufacturer's replacement to the Loveless Cougar or Cheetah vacuum, which is the best ash vacuum I've ever owned. This is one that can be used with 'hot ashes' or a few coals still in the box. One set easily lasts a season but I've been able to use longer by removing and blowing them out with an air compressor.
The only problem I've ever had was my fault, letting the can get too full of ash and one of the coals came to rest against the filter and burned a hole. Otherwise they have been flawless.

My old filter was probably 12 years old when it broke. I was happy to see I could still get a new filter.
Installing it took about 5 minutes. (do it outside or your wife will be upset)
The vacuum now works like new, I forgot how good it was when I first got it.
I wish I have replaced it years ago.
It cost less at Amazon than getting it directly from the dealer.

Purchased to replace the filter that came on our used Cheetah vac. We heat with wood daily in winter (about 7 months of the year) and our ash vac is a lifesaver when cleaning the stove in the morning so we can start it up. Our last filter was of unknown age but I had to replace it when I sucked up a hot ash and the vacuum chamber was so full that the ash burned a hole in the filter. The replacement was easy to put on and so far so good. It does the job and helps keep down on ash dust in the house.
