this is a decent little vacuum within a certain range of expectations. As other reviews have pointed out this is not going to perform like a $300 top-of-the-line machine, but I don't think it's too much to ask that it pick up the dirt on my carpet. It did not do that. Well I should say it picked up the surface dirt, but as the Bissell upright I got yesterday showed us it was not getting anything below that; I filled up it's canister just vacuuming a 6x12' area and it was filled with very fine dirt that this has obviously been missing for the last year. that said I am keeping it because it does have it's uses. I will use it on the hard floor surfaces of the house and to clean up around the cats litter boxes. however, unless you're doing most of your vacuuming on hard floors, and have no use of a hose attachment (I thought I could get away w/ not using one, but after a while I decided I really did need one), then I suppose this is a good choice. I should note though that the filter is a pain to use and you should definitely invest in a small shoe brush to clean it between washings because it takes *forever* to dry. also you'll want to keep this vacuum against a wall because at least w/ mine the mechanism that keeps it upright broke after a few months of use.Customer Review: two thumbs down

The first time I used it wow it worked great but the dust clogged the filters and it took two days to dry when i tried to rinse the filter clean not even worth the low price
