This is the first soldering torch I have ever bought and I'm very impressed with it. I put it in front of an 8 inch fan at low speed and the flame moved but did not go out. Also tried it upside down for a full minute with no problem. Moved the torch briskly side to side and up and down also with no problems. Only reason for four stars is the trigger. It is definitely child proof as you have to move the trigger back first before it can go down and ignite. Quite difficult with one hand but not impossible. The top one third pulls up to remove the butane tank. To re-install push down untill it clicks in place. I would prefer a different trigger operation,perhaps a push button type? But after numerous on and off cycles it starts over 90% of the time on first trigger pull. Shuts off when trigger released almost immediately and within five seconds when upside down. I plan to use it to repair a pinhole leak in a water line if my sealant repair does not hold. Practised soldering with it, and it worked great. The hot blue inside flame goes out beyond the black wind guard almost half inch.I highly recommend this micro torch for home use.
