Customer Review: Great vacuum but I can't buy belts/bags,etc. in any of my local stores anymore.

I would be very skeptical when buying this or any other Electrolux product. I bought mine from Lowe's. I didn't realize they were going to stop selling it. They did within months of my purchase and stopped selling the belts and bags within six months. I went to other stores and I haven't had any luck. I also went to the Electrolux vacuum sales/service center. I was told Eureka owned the small vacuum business(the cheap vacuums). So now if I buy these then I must buy them off of Amazon and pay shipping every time. Who knows how long I'll be able to buy them here? Don't buy this vacuum!!!! I will never even buy a Electrolux appliance now. I don't trust them.Customer Review: Great vacuum cleaner for an upright

This vacuum cleaner is great in many respects: the suction seems to be quite good, and there are easy-to-read indicators telling you when you should replace the bag and filter. In addition, the vacuum folds up very nicely and is quite portable, and has buttons right on the handle to switch between carpet mode and hardwood floor mode. While the bags are somewhat on the small side, I see that as a good thing since it means that you will be replacing them more frequently; plus, the bag replacement indicator takes out all the guesswork of deciding when to replace the bag. And, if you're afraid of running out of the bags, just get them from Amazon: Electrolux EL206A Intensity Upright Bags (be sure to buy them from *Amazon*, not another seller - just $8 for 6 bags!).
However, it does have some drawbacks. The main one, imho, is that it's still an upright. This means that you have to move the entire vacuum back and forth while vacuuming and that it's impossible to vacuum under things with low clearance, such as the bed. Canister vacuum cleaners outperform significantly in this regard.
Secondly, the power cord is way too short; I have to use this vacuum with an extension cord. Also, the plug is not grounded, which makes it much easier for it to come out by accident.
Also, I once replaced the bag incorrectly, and the vacuum did not detect this and still showed "optimal performance" - which resulted in all the dirt going into the bin holding the bag instead of the bag itself.
Finally, the build quality on this is iffy - the red plastic is actually regular plastic with red paint on it, which comes off very easily with even the most minor scuffing. A piece of plastic under the brush is also starting to crack for some reason.
Needless to say, this vacuum works great for the price of under $200, but if I had more money to spend, I would certainly invest in a canister vacuum with similar suction power.

I have very short nap carpeting, hardwood floors, and 2 cats! I have a good canister vacuum for regular cleaning, but needed something small for in between quick cleanups. Anyone with animals and short nap carpeting knows you have to have a good vacuum to suck up animal fur. I have tried other small uprights and they never did that great of a job. Electrolux has a good reputation and thought I would give it a try. It is GREAT! It has 2 setting, one for carpeting and one for floors. The suction is just as good as a full size vacuum. And as others have said, the bag is kinda small and fills quickly. One of my bedrooms have heavier pile carpeting, it did a good job there also, but was kinda hard to push. Others have commented on wanting larger bags or attachments, maybe, but it would end up a larger vacuum! This vacuum wasn't intended to be the only vacuum you own! All I no is that I have tried other small vacuums for quick cleanups, and none have compared to this! So far I have not found anything negative about this product!Customer Review: Great vacuum!

This is a great little vacuum. We live in a small house where storage is tight and this vacuum can live happily under my bed. We also have two pets, one who sheds quite a lot. The vacuum gets up all the pet hair.
The only downfall is that the vacuum has so much suction, that for smaller rugs, it will suck the whole thing up, so you have to stand on the corners while you vacuum, but its not that big of a deal.

We live in a 1800-1900 sq ft home, 2 stories, this vacuum packs great, small and fits on to our closet, not a problem there, a bit noisy but who cares it sucks everything on its path, works great with FLOR rugs and wooden floor, a bit heavy for moving it.. so its not a really light vacuum but my wife and myself can handle it pretty well, heard a lot of complains about the size of the bags but its been a couple of months and while we dont use it a lot we havent needed to replace bags often!
