Tools and Hardware Reviews of Elgin Travel Alarm ClockCustomer Review: Must have gotten a lemon Summary: 1 Stars
So all I wanted was a cheap battery alarm clock for a camper. This thing eats up a battery every few days - at least once or twice a week. It works great otherwise - maybe I received a "lemon" but I cannot keep feeding it so will have to get another brand.

I live in a studio and don't have a table for my bed, so I was looking for a small simple alarm clock that runs on batteries. So far this one has been great. It has a small profile and simple controls, a large light/snooze button that's easy to hit when you're still half asleep, and a three tone alarm beep that's not too loud but still wakes you up. I've only had it for a week but it's still perfectly on time.
There are only two things I would change one it. First is that there's only one alarm you could set. It would be great if there was a second alarm so I could set one time for weekends and another for weekdays, but changing the time is easy so its not a dealbreaker. The other is the 4 minute snooze button. Again, not a big deal but coming from alarms with 7 minute snoozes its going to take a while to get used to.

What I like best about the Elgin travel alarm clock is the large, blue back-lit display. The slide buttons to set the alarm and time are a little tricky to use because they tend to stick a little, but it is not enough of a problem for me to give it a lower rating. The exterior is hard plastic and I would have liked it to feel a little sturdier, but it keeps the weight and price down. All in all not a bad product.

Clock worked but I had to remove and reinsert batteries to get the indiglo (which is very bright) and alarm to work - weird. Alarm could be a little louder at peak level (alarm lasts 1 minute). For the money, tough to beat. Recommended unless you're a heavy sleeper.

Just got this alarm clock, and it is as advertised. Easy to set the time and alarm, with a blue light that is very effective. I've had alarm clocks that have a light that usually lets you barely see the display, not so here. Just make sure you learn what angle to look at to clearly see it. You will need 2 AAA batteries, but it took me less than 5 minutes from opening package to having time and alarm set up and ready to go.
