Tools and Hardware Reviews of Emergency Fire StarterCustomer Review: Broke right away Summary: 1 Stars
The glue holding the magnesium to the block did not hold and it separated right away. Would definitely buy a different one.
Customer Review: Could Be Easier Summary: 3 Stars
I bought this for my son in Boyscouts. It is hard to shave and the striker doesn't work well with the flint. It works well but I have used similar products that were a lot easier to use.
Customer Review: Could Save Your Life! Summary: 4 Stars
I bought one of these from Walmart for $6.88 and put it on my keychain, rubber banding the hacksaw blade to the magnesium block. I have tested it out and it works well. I'm going to buy a few more to put in my survival kits/bug out bags. You should too.
Customer Review: Couldn't get a spark Summary: 1 Stars
Maybe I didn't give it enough time, but when I couldn't get a spark from the steel side, I just threw it in a drawer. Waste of money for me, but maybe others can get it to spark.
Customer Review: Couldn't get it to work. Summary: 2 Stars
I was unable to get this thing to work. I spent nearly half an hour trying to get this to work, but it didn't. I was able to create the spark, but nothing was able to catch on fire. It is difficult to shave off, maybe I didn't shave off enough.
