I ordered these for use at the nav station on my boat so I particularly was interested in the red light feature to minimize effects on night vision. These are so affordable that I have three of them aboard for night use on deck as needed. I have them hanging from the overhead hand rail at the nav station so they provide light directly to the table when not worn on the head. The beam is very focused and sufficiently bright. The white light is easily bright enough to enhance daytime use at the table. I am very pleased. I don't understand why some were troubled by the fact that they use AAA instead of AA batteries. This is a minor issue and they actually make the unit a little smaller. Certainly an attractive alternate to the much more expensive units available.Customer Review: Great Ghost Hunting Product

Great little gadget for any amateur or seasoned ghost hunter, both beams work well, and it's very light and fits comfortably on the head. Like a previous reviewer said, I wouldn't recommend it for heavy duty work such as pounding rocks as it will slip off, but if you plan to venture into a haunted graveyard in the middle of the night, and don't want to trip over headstones, then this product is highly recommended.Customer Review: Great Headlamp at a Great Price

I love the fact that this uses LEDs and common (AAA) batteries. This is very bright - plenty of light for anything I might want to do. The fact that it has a Red LED, to preserve night vision, is icing on the cake. I ordered one the first time around, then went back and ordered several more to be used as gifts. (My nephew is going to love it!)
Update: Subtract 1 star because I found it turned on in the pocket of my backpack. (It appears that the slider switch moves a bit too easily. I may try something like a rubber band wrapped around the light to try to keep the switch from moving.)
On the other hand, add back 1/2 star due to the fact that the light swivels up and down so you can direct the light where you need it.
Still comes out at 4.5 stars for me.

I wear this at work, strapped to my hardhat like a miner. It is very bright, and the batteries last a long time. I don't use the redlight feature, just the white. I got tired of holding my Maglite between my teeth to work with both hands.Customer Review: Great Night Light

I enjoy using my night light when I walk my dog at night. I bought is for the hands free feature. Neighbors say that can see us coming from some distance away because of the LED.
