Tools and Hardware Reviews of Essick Air H12-400 3-Speed Evaporative Console Humidifier, Oak BurlCustomer Review: 1st Humidifier Summary: 4 Stars
Very happy overall, was a little concerned on how much water it would use (we are on well water and have to reserve use now and again) We keep the setting in the middle and am pleasantly surprised it dosen't use alot. We heat our house with wood so the air is very dry which is the reason we bought a humidifier. I would give it a 5 star but after a few weeks the fan has become a little noisey. However, for the price it works very well
Customer Review: A Good Work Horse Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this humidifier to combat the low humidity of NorthEastern Winters. My house is 2,400 Sqr Ft and this unit is stretched to keep the humidity above 40%. The highest speed is quite noisy and can only be used at night or when we are away. I recommend it but only for smaller homes.
Customer Review: A Nightmare to Fill! Summary: 1 Stars
I bought this unit as a second humidifier. I thought having 2 would allow me to keep the humidity higher and refill less often. This was a nice looking unit, 3 speeds, 12-gallon output, and 5-gallon capacity. It wasn't difficult to put together but filling it was a nightmare! There is a single 2.5-gallon water bottle that is too tall to fit under most faucets. This is where the hose from hades comes in. You attach one end to the water faucet and place the other end into the water bottle and fill it up...sounds simple doesn't it...it's not. The hose comes straight out of the box with kinks in it. When you attach it to the faucet & turn the water on, a single kink will send a spray of water from the faucet end straight into your face. You have to massage the kinks out while running the water practically at a trickle to stay dry & get the bottle filled. It take twice as long to fill the bottle than it should. You then pour the water into the unit and start all over to fill the bottle a second time before placing it into the unit. I was so annoyed by the time I finished I had already decided to send it back. I drained it, dismantled it, packed it back into the box & sent it back the next day. I then ordered the Essick 821000. This was the first humidifier I bought the year before. It has a 6-gallon tank capacity & an open reservoir with no bottles. I use 2-gallon buckets to fill it and it is quick & simple. It is inexpensive and compact enough to fit in narrow spaces. I would recommend the 821000 over any model with bottles & hoses.
Customer Review: A So-So Rating For Noise & Performance Summary: 3 Stars
We bought this Humidifier based on good reviews for it here on Amazon, and for the fair price. The first surprising thing was that it is NOISY. On the lowest setting it's not to bad, but it makes sound as it comes on and goes off, and on the middle setting it's like being beside a street fan... to loud to have life go on around it unnoticed.
We have now had it about 3 weeks and it is rattling when it comes on... so we will now look into returning it.
Customer Review: A very good Humidifier Summary: 5 Stars
Have used two of the Bemis H 12, 3 speed Humidifier, now for two years. They are very easier to use & require very little care, except for & occasional cleaning. Must replace the Wick & the back Air Filter each year, to keep it working well. Also should receive one good cleaning per year, inside, as much dust will get on all surfaces in & around the fan area. They seem very well maitain the desired humidty level, as I have good Humidstats in rooms, to give indication of where settings should be for variences caused by outside air temp, which greatly affects amount of water needed, to be added to room air. Just got a new 1045 Super Wick, when I put it on, I found that it did not have the little bracket on the top, left side to slide the little guide that holds the water level rod (that goes up & down with level, to show when filling is needed. This made it hard to put the top back on, as rod would not stay in place, and had to "Duct Tape" to make it stay & line up with switch, where it slides into switch depression. Don't know if this was just an error, or if this is not put on replacment Wicks any longer. This is a good Humidifier & would sure recommend it to anyone, to try & buy. A Satisfied Customer.
