I just got this vacuum and I love it. I have three dogs in the house with hardwood floors. This is the first vacuum I've had that actually gets embedded dog hair out of the couch. It has great suction and the floor attachment moves in such a way that I can get completely under furniture with low clearance--it kind of flattens itself. I only had to unplug it once thanks to the long cord and long hose, which is also nice. I like the smaller bag (but not too small), 'cause old dog hair can stink, so I'd rather dispose of it more often. Great vacuum for the money!
Downsides: I wish the cord came out from somewhere else but the bottom or had some kind of clip to hold it in place. Not really an issue, but more a design flaw. Also, the suction reducer thingy is in a bad spot. It's where you actually hold the vacuum, so you can inadvertently open it. I pinched the heck out of my hand while closing it once, but I am super-clumsy.
Still the best vacuum I've had.

The floor attachment that comes with this is for carpets. If you go to the Eureka site, go to accessories, you will see the floor attachment here is carpet. You can order the bare floor attachment for $21 plus shipping though. Well worth it, it works better on bare floors (although you can get by with this one, not as good though). I HIGHLY recommend this unit, it is WAY-POWERFUL for the size, lightweight. I disagree with some on here, for the money it's durable and well made. Two other attachments, a pointed crevice nozzle and a smaller brush-nozzle comes with it, also two bags. The bags are actually larger than I thought. I had used an Oreck carry canister for bare floors and this is TEN TIMES BETTER, MUCH more powerful, larger bag, many advantages. Could not be happier.

Thanks for the last reviewer. I almost bought the weaker non-G model. This G model has pretty powerful suction. The filter bag is easy to change and priced reasonable. Build and design are pretty basic and not as advanced as those Japanese models like Sanyo Powerboy. The wheels are made with hard plastic. I am afraid it could scratch my hard wood floor someday. It does NOT has HEPA filter. Overall, I like it.Customer Review: Good for specific tasks.

I have had this a few weeks and here are my impressions of this vac:
Its not really as loud as i expected after some reviews, not quiet but what you would expect. Great on hardwood floors and vacuming corners, furniture, along baseboards, and spot cleaning on carpet. This vac is not designed for whole carpet cleaning. It gets warm as some others stated. Not hot but I carry it instead of drag it and the handle warms up pretty fast but its not bad. Loads of suction and very lightweight. Pretty nice cord length so you can cover a large area without unplugging.
Bottom line if you are looking for something light to do spot cleaning and hard surfaces this is a good value. Would purchase again.

I originally purchased this vacuumn knowing that I wanted a small canister unit that was easily stored as we have a small home. I also had only hardwood floors at the time. I did my homework and chose this one after reading all of the wonderful reviews. The vacuumn seemed to be exactly what I was looking for when it arrived. Suction seemed to be sufficient to clean my hard wood and kitchen floors. We then adopted a Golden Retriever & I put down a nice big area rug in our living room. The suction level of this vacuum just cannot handle having to pick up pet hair on the carpeting. I find that I have to constantly stop vacuuming in order to clean the pet hair off the bottom where it should be going up into the hose. I've also found that due to the lack of suction it gets caught in the hose itself as well. If you need a light weight vacuumn that doesnt need to do very much or you only have bare floors and no pets to clean up after it might work for you. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and look for another vacuumn with better suction.
