I bought as a quick way to vacuum my mud room. Unfortunately it was unable to handle the smallest amounts of sand that needed picking up and instead they simply got stuck within the vacuum's wheels and scratched my floor.

We have had our original Boss vacuum over 3 years and found it to be a really great addition to using a regular vacuum. It doesn't pick up like a standard vacuum but because it is so easy to use, the house gets vacuumed more often (and therefor stays cleaner). I can do almost the entire main living area of our house on a single charge and bought an additional battery pack when a single battery isn't enough. Ours get used 3 to 7 times a week and we have 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 3 boys to clean up after.
After 3 years here's the "good and not so good":
Good:
-- Lighweight, manuverable, and mechanically reliable
-- Battery life is acceptable and replacement batteries are relatively cheap
-- Dirt container is easy to empty and clean
Could be better:
-- Battery connection to unit is cheap and corrodes after time (we found that what we thought was weak batteries was just poor connection -- it's easy to clean but not the best design)
-- Dog and cat hair poses an issue with the rollers on the bottom of the unit - it clogs the rollers and is difficult to clean out without dismantling the vacuum brush head
-- The roller design is cheap and is the only mechanical item on the unit to fail -- the shafts supporting the rollers broke their mounts and came off
As mentioned above -- we use this unit ALOT and I figure for over 3 years of use the $29 purchase price is well worth it so I came back to purchase another one.

I have a longhaired cat, whose litterbox is on carpet. I wanted to replace an old handheld cordless kept for litter pickup, so easy switch from handle to handheld was important to me. I was surprised by this Eureka's ease and speed of use, much better than the old handheld, so I did half the room just to see how it did at general cleaning.
Then the roller began a faint whine, so I checked it. The poor roller's brush was wrapped in cat hair! It took time clean, since there was so much hair no longer in my carpet. The second vacuuming found a little more, and my carpet got a facelift, appears years younger. I've used a new Hoover and an Oreck here over 5 years, neither of which did the job, even with a powder claiming to help a vac pick up pet hair.
Who expects a stick vac to beat the big boys? It never occurred to me.
I've now done the whole house with this featherweight, producing handfuls of cat hair. After the fourth brush cleaning, I must warn you pet owners, allow a lot of extra time to do your first cleaning with this vac! It's thereafter much quicker than a regular heavy corded vac, and so easy.
I shopped hard before choosing this vac, and its 300 reviews sold me. I now worry that such a mature product might go out of production, so I bought another one, with extra filters (a new one is suggested each year, since they're washable). Buy yours quick, before some fool tries to improve it!

I bought this vacuum as we ripped out our old carpet on the 1st floor and put in hardwoods. I was looking for a vacuum that would no scratch the floor but also lightly get the dirt and dog hair off the rugs. This vacuum is perfect! Lots of power even though its rechargable, lightweight and has two modes, barefloor and a rollerbrush for carpet with one flip of the switch. It is easy to remove the dirt canister and cleans well. I vacuum everyday and this one takes a beating. i have a lab with lots of shedding hair and two small kids and this vacuum sucks up all the messes they make! You won't be disappointed.Customer Review: Can't live without it

My niece kept telling me about this vacuum. She said it was the greatest, most useful purchase she has made. I thought she was overcome with taking care of her toddler and baby and did not pay much attention. I was visiting her one day and she started telling me about this Eureka Boss cordless vacuum again and gave me a demo. She likes it so much she has one for each floor of her house!
I was amazed, and went home and ordered one online from Target. It is fantastic! I can clean a whole floor in minutes, including cat hair and kitty litter! I needed a little practice emptying the dust cup, but have developed a good techique so I don't get it all over.
I usually put off cleaning because I have to drag out the heavy cumbersome vacuum. Now I actually enjoy cleaning with this light and adaptable machine. Life is so much easier and cleaner.
