Customer Review: A Powerful Sucker.

When I bought the Eureka 4700A Maxima Bagless Upright Vacuum (Is it me or are product names getting longer?), I was looking for a dust buster, but I found the price and features too good to resist.
I was expecting one of those low-powered vacuums that would get all clogged up and would have to be replaced after a very short period of time.
I was delighted to find that this vacuum has an enormous amount of suction power and feels self-propelled. It does a very thorough job at picking up all of the dirt on my hardwood floors and on my rugs.
The 4700A is loud, but not loud enough for me to be dissatisfied.

I HAVE PURCHASED A TOTAL OF FOUR OF THESE VACUUMS AND HAVE BEEN EXTREMELY PLEASED. THE PRICE IS HARD TO BEAT, BUT THE QUALITY IS GREAT. IT HAS MORE SUCTION THAN MY HIGHER PRICED VACUUM AND IT IS LIGHTWEIGHT AND EASY TO MANUEVER. I ALSO LOVE THE FACT THAT THE COLLECTION BIN AND FILTER IS EASY TO REMOVE AND CAN BE COMPLETELY WASHED. NO MORE "FUNNY VACUUM"SMELL.
ONLY CRITICISM IS THAT THE HOSE DOES COME LOOSE FROM THE MACHINE, BUT THAT'S A MINOR IRRITANT. I JUST PUT A LITTLE CLEAR MAILING TAPE AROUND IT TO MAKE A TIGHTER FIT.

This vacuum is horrible. 1. It blows dirt while in use. 2. It overheats. 3. It "leaks" dirt when you turn it off and move it from room to room. 4. It doesn't clean very well even when it's not blowing dirt and overheating. 5. It emits a horrid high-pitch sound. I haven't had this vacuum very long, and I'm going to see if it's not too late to return it to the store.Customer Review: Affordable Eureka vacuum

This is my second Eureka 4700D vacuum. The first one, only 2 years old was unrepairable. The design is flawed at the beater bar. You can't clean the hair and thread from the bearing area. The bar ended up melting the plastic holder near the belt assembly. These are light weight and medium duty vacuums good enough for general household project. My wife likes it better than our other more powerful vacuum because its light and smaller.
The filtering system is easy to clean and the paper filters work well and last a long time. I noticed the hose that wraps on top of the handle gets stretched and begins to droop. It still works correctly - just droops over the handle. Still a good value.
