Tools and Hardware Reviews of Eureka LightSpeed Upright Vacuum, Bagless, 4700D

Customer Review: OK for the money.
Summary: 4 Stars

I had stuff on my carpet. After using this, there's no longer stuff on my carpet. This is pretty much the cheapest vacuum you can pick up, so you can't really expect much more.

If you have kids/pets or more than one or two carpeted rooms, I would absolutely go with something better. But for light use this does the job well.

Customer Review: OK for the price
Summary: 4 Stars

I must say, I got a lower price than is offered here (paid 44.99). It's a decent vacuum. It's not spectacular. What I like: it's very light, has good suction power on the hose, and comes with a decent array of on board tools. It's bagless, which is nice. Nice, super long cord. What I don't like: it's cheaply made, and a pain in the arse to put together. The collection cup is small, and requires frequent empties. I also don't like the front vents that blow air forward, disturbing some of the items you are trying to vacuum up on bare floors. I had to "chase" some of the dog fur I was trying to vacuum. However, I wasn't expecting a Dyson. For the price I paid, I would say it's a good deal and a decent product.

Customer Review: Ode To A Vacuum
Summary: 5 Stars

From the store to your door
with shipping for free
Five-minute assembly
that's super E-Z
It glides o'er the floor
without breaking a sweat
And sucks up all the dirt
On that you can bet
What reason is there
to spend more you ask
I can't think of one
given the task
It seems well designed
and cleanup's a breeze
But do it outdoors
'cause the dust makes you sneeze
And always be sure
that the filter is cleaned
Each time you are finished
with this little machine
If you do you'll be happy
as I am with mine
And your new dirt-free floors
will make you feel fine
Oh sure you could spend
what it takes for a Dyson
But your wallet will feel
as if hit by Mike Tyson
And your floors sure can't tell
that your checkbook's been cleaned
Just so you can brag
of your super machine
So take my advice
and buy one of these
With the money you save
you can do as you please!

Customer Review: One Word, Beastly
Summary: 5 Stars

I've had my Eureka Lightspeed 4700D for almost a month now, my friend Nick has had his Maxima 4700D for alot longer, about 8 - 9 months I believe. Both of us can attest, THIS is a quality vacuum. Save for one time where my timing belt snapped the day after I bought it, which was completely my fault, the suction was so powerful when I was vacuuming my grandma's room that it sucked up one of my grandma's heavy-duty blankets and caused the belt to snap, I've had zero problems with this thing. It has picked up so much dust, pet hair, and debris off the floors of my house that it's ridiculous. I'm so glad I bought one of these for the downstairs of my house, it actually makes me WANT to clean it at least every other day if I can. Never really had a vacuum do that to me before, that's for sure. **LOL**

Plus, the cord that is attached to the vacuum itself is ridiculously long. I kid you not when I say from the second outlet of my downstairs, the one nearest the entrance door, I was able to clean the staircase from bottom to top and still have a few inches to comfortably place the vacuum upstairs while I went downstairs to pull the plug out of it's socket and bring the cord itself upstairs without any problems. And when cleaning my grandma's bedroom and my bedroom, I was amazed at how might brighter the color got after a few sweeps with the thing, and of course, the blobs of dust and debris that formed in the canister could only be described as "alien-like" because they were so huge. The feather-light weight of the vacuum makes hauling it a crap ton easier too, so bear that in mind when you decide to buy this thing.

There are but a couple flaws, one of them being that the hose, which is multi-function and actually serves as the artery that dust and debris picked up from the brushroll section travels through to get to the canister. You see, this is a brilliant, but flawed design. Mainly due to the fact that the hose keeps falling out of it's respective place. However, just a couple seconds takes care of that. The other being the vents in the front sometimes blowing things around that you want to pick up off the floor. But these are small flaws in an otherwise awesome vacuum. I really have no complaints about it, it's a great machine for 60 bucks. And it's mad easy to replace any part from it. Plus I got a three year warranty on the thing so if anything goes wrong, I can return it and get a new one.

This really is a quality vacuum, and trust me, I have a Eureka Optima that I spent about the same amount to get some 6 years ago now and it's still as powerful as the day I brought it home. Eureka does make a quality product, and you can bet I will be buying another one of these badboys for my room and for the upstairs in general. I have no regrets of buying this thing, considering that it makes me feel good about cleaning my house? Totally I am a fan. Get one for yourself and you'll see the Eureka difference in no time flat.

Customer Review: Only had two weeks, broken belts twice
Summary: 2 Stars

This vacuum does have great suction power for the price. It is also very lightweight. However, I have some beefs. It seems to really blow the dirt around in front of it before it picks it up. Two out of three uses the belt has broken. That is really annoying. Also the hose does not stay plugged into the socket. And I don't like the way that you have to wrap the cord over the hose in the back. I don't know, maybe I got a defective model but I don't think I would ever buy this again. I hope I can get a belt to work on it.
