Tools and Hardware Reviews of Eureka Optima Lightweight Upright Vacuum, 437AZCustomer Review: Excellent Vacuum for small homes Summary: 4 Stars
I looked all over the place trying to find a decent first vacuum. (I live in a 2-bedroom apartment with low carpeting and tile, and I have no pets.) I work for a house-cleaning company, so I have used MANY vacuums. Overall, I am very pleased with this vacuum. I bought it about two months ago.
Many of the reviews done previously cover what you need to know. However, I'll still put in my experience and opinion.
Pros:
Strong suction (especially for the size)
Easy to store
Adjustable handle (My 6'3" boyfriend can use it fairly easily)
Attachments are pretty good (good for edging carpeting, vacuuming furniture & drapes)
HEPA filter
Lightweight/Easy to use
Simple switches (floor/hose, I (brush roll off), II (brush roll on)) allow for easy switching from hard flooring to carpeting and from floor to hose.
No bags (no need to worry about find the right bag and easy clean-up)
Aesthetically pleasing
Neutral:
Overall, it's not too loud for the power. When you use the Power Paw, it gets quite loud, though.
You do need to rinse out the filter after most every use, but it's not very hard to do at all.
The cord is a decent length (though I'm used to a commercial length cord, so this is nit-picky).
Mostly fine for use on hard flooring. Some very light pieces of fuzz might fly away if they're in the "right" spot.
Cons:
If you have a place that's bigger than a 2-bedroom apartment, I wouldn't recommend it.
Other thoughts:
I haven't used it on pet hair, so I can't vouch for its effectiveness there.
In the time that I've owned it, I've loved using it. It makes cleaning up my place easy and enjoyable.
Customer Review: Excellent vac: mostly pros, with few cons Summary: 5 Stars
We have four vacuum cleaners, and it's not because we're neat freaks. It's exactly the opposite. We keep hoping for the one vacuum that will clean our house with the least effort. Each succession of vacuum cleaner gets smaller and smaller, especially after we discovered we can pay our 5-year old 50 cents to clean the carpet. Between this and the Eureka "The Boss Superlite", they're our favorites. Here are some of the real pluses of the system, followed by the negatives:
PROS:
Great suction, especially on fine dust
Very lightweight, our kid (5 years old) can operate it
Retractable handle makes it easy to carry around (we're short people)
Retractable handle makes it easy to store
Inexpensive
CONS:
The HEPA filter attracts dust very quickly and needs to be cleaned each time (is this a plus or a minus?) Anyhow, it's a messy job.
The front face could be a fraction smaller to get under furniture better
Customer Review: Excellent vacuum Summary: 5 Stars
Easy to put together, up and running in no time. Definitely does the job, and is hard to beat at this price!
Customer Review: Excellent vacuum! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this to be used on the bare floor, the stair case and low pile carpets. The suction is amazing and does a great job. The power is good enough to run the staircase brush and maintain suction. Other products that I've experienced simply fail to function properly on the stairs.
The wire is not as long as the uprights, but its good. Its a smaller vacuum! Its hard to move the vacuum on high pile carper, but its not really meant to be for such carpets. I love this vacuum.
I havent had much of a problem with the filter getting clogged in just 1 or 2 uses. But, remember its powerful, it does suck up quite a lot of fine dust and materials. Highly recommend it.
Customer Review: Fabulous for the money! Summary: 4 Stars
After reading the reviews I was skeptical. Its amazing to me how many people DONT read the manual before jumping to conclusions. =) This is one powerful little vacuum! It works well on my hardwoods and my carpeted areas. You can either turn the spinning brush on or off (which I love). Mine came with the pet paw and that thing works amazingly well on steps and on furniture! Its very lightweight and compact and will fit just about anywhere! But, it can easily do the work of a larger vacuum without the bulkiness. i only think of two cons (and they aren't that bad)...1. The lid that fits onto the debris container is hard to get back on just right. It fits VERY tight so, some woman might find it difficult to work with. 2. the cord is just not long enough. be prepared to switch outlets twice in a large room! I have a large living room so I can't quite reach the other side of the room without moving plugs but, its something I can deal with for sure!
