Tools and Hardware Reviews of Eureka Pet Lover Oh! Upright Bagless Vacuum, 439AZ

Customer Review: Glad I bought it!
Summary: 4 Stars

So far so good. As far as picking stuff up, especially cat hair, I give it 5 stars. The only drawback is emptying the trash cup. It's a bit difficult to get it off without creating a mess; but it's worth that one aggravation for the good job it does otherwise. For it's size it is quite powerful and easy to maneuver and doesn't take much space to store. Every few uses, you do need to cut off the hair wrapped around the brush. Once again, no big deal. All in all, I'm very glad I bought it.

Oh yeah......great price!!

Customer Review: Good
Summary: 4 Stars

We needed a new vacuum because our old vacuum wasn't picking up pet hair. This vacuum is good for the most part. It picks up the pet hair with no problem. The only problem I had was with the roller. The roller collected hair, and we would have to take the vacuum apart to get to the roller and unclog the hair off of it.

Customer Review: Good for the price
Summary: 4 Stars

This vacuum works better than I expected. Its a good priced vacuum and it does a really good job with pet hair. The filter is a pain to clean out each time but that's the only downside. The handle is adjustable which is great for my hubby since he's 6'3". Now he has no excuse. The vacuum head is small which has advantages & disadvantages. It can fit in small spaces but you have to work a little more to cover the area. Overall, I am pleased with the purchase and would recommend it to anyone - especially great for an apartment or a dorm room.

Customer Review: Good little vaccuum - don't buy it for the PowerPaw
Summary: 4 Stars

I have had this now for over 6 months and this is a good little vaccuum if you have a large carpet area rug on a wooden floor and don't need a wide rotor brush. The suction is good and you can switch the motorized rotor off so you can do tile/wood floors. I got this for ~$50, so it was a no brainer. The only drawback is the PowerPaw - it doesn't really do much, as it is not motorized, it just relies on suction to turn the brush. Having said that, the Paw seems somewhat designed to pick up hair, so maybe it's not completely worthless, although the crevice tool and additional fabric brusch have much stronger suction.

You may need to watch that the intake to the filter doesn't get clogged and the rotor doesn't get wrapped with hair (a problem with ANY vaccuum). If you notice suction deteriorating, I would release the canister and see if the debris is getting plugged in the actual channel that runs from the rotor bush at the bottom of the vaccum and check the rotor for strands or items slowing down the rotation. I noticed the clogging happening as I have two cats and there is LOTS of hair in the house - hmmm...maybe I need to vaccuum more often ;-) The two issues caused the vacuum to suddenly stop and I thought it was broken, but I plugged it in the next day and - suprise - it was working again! It appears to have an automatic overheat switch build in, so no need to go back to the store :)

This is not a everyday vacuum for a house, it is a basic vacuum for a single floor apartment in a city, where you want something compact to get into little corners, under tables, etc. and you have cats (although just because it's small doesn't mean it's quiet!). The filter does get full fairly quickly and requires emptying (can you say dust bunnies?). You can take a cue tip to clean in between the ridges, but banging it against the side of the garbage and using your fingers removes much of the debris. I have yet to have to replace the filter, although after the overhead I may just go get one.

Customer Review: Good performance & good price
Summary: 4 Stars

I wanted to use my $25 bonus from Amazon and so I decided to try this vacuum cleaner on the website. My old vacuum was a Eureka from 1971...repaired a few times over the years but really falling apart. So far the new vac is good! I have tile floors and area rugs and it gets both with the flip of a switch. I recommend it and it sure was a good price even without the coupon I had.
