Bought this nailer to do my roof. Unfortunately I waited till the cooler weather to do it so I can't return it, Nailer fired about 50 nails then quit. Now I'm screwed.
Update-----After a week being repaired I got my nailer back. No charge for the repair. Maybe if it stops raining I can do my roof. Add a star for repair service.
Nice day, no rain, took my nailer and some shingles up on the second story, nailer fired 21 nails then quit. Same problem as first time. Back to repair service. A hammer is looking like a much more reliable way to do my roof.

I've had good luck in the past with reconditioned products-- half the power/air tools I use were purchased reconditioned/refurbished. But this nailer is not to be trusted. The first one wouldn't fire a single nail. No pressure through the piston. The replacement that Amazon provided me (at no cost to me at all, thank you Amazon) fired ONE SINGLE NAIL, then started blowing by exactly like the first one. I know it's not my equipment, I had to use a rental DeWalt nailer for the past week while trying to sort this out, and it worked flawlessly every day, despite looking exactly like what you'd expect a rental nailer to look like: that is, beat to hell.
Don't be afraid to buy reconditioned, just stay as far away from this nailer as you possibly can. A good start would be to not buy it in the first place.

I had never used a coil nailer before, but now it was time to re-roof my house. I found this on Amazon and the price was about 100.00 less than Home Depot. Had very slights signs of use and operated almost flawlessly with just a couple jams using cheap Harbor Freight nails.Customer Review: Good Nailer

I can tell from the look of it that it has been used many times. There are scratches everywhere and the black paint has faded somewhat. Yet this nailer works wonderfully. I used it to nail the drip edges, the felt paper and of course the shingles. I have finished half of the roof and am waiting for a nice weekend to finish off to other half. Since it's $40/day to rent from Home Depot, this nailer is well worth it at this price. Really recommend to the do-it-yourselfers who are crazy enough to want to do the roof themselves.
