Item arrived with a bent curb guide. Called and they sent a free replacement. By that time, the head unit had failed and I have to used the edger.
I have purchased several Ryobi products over the years but probably never will again. I ordered 4 items and after the first use, three had to be taken in for warranty repairs.

I am disappointed with this product. I bought this for my Ryobi 725r. It matches up exactly, and is supposed to be compatible, but the spring-loaded pin that holds the attachment in place is not long enough, and tightening the wheel clamp did little to keep it from rotating when operating. I had to use a C-clamp to rig it so it would stay in place. Also, it had uneven vibration, and the metal curb guide bent after a few minutes. I was unable to finish the edging of my .23 acre yard before it overheated the engine. Also it is heavy... I would much rather stick to using the string trimmer. In face, it might be better to just buy the straight-shaft attachment if you have the curved one like I do.Customer Review: Killed my Craftsman

I purchased this item to use with my Craftsman string trimmer. Unit connected as easily as expected and spun up with no effort. Immediately after making contact with the soil it would stop. I tried to disconnecting and reconnecting it to make sure I was "doing it right". After three attempts I realized it would not work. Problem is, neither will my trimmer now. The engine runs fine but the head will not spin. This unit killed my trimmer so now I have to buy a new trimmer. This unit will be on Craigslist by the end of today.Customer Review: Nice add on

This attachment takes a little bit of practice to get the hang of it. But coupled with the Ryobi trimmer it really gets the job done. Very satisfied.Customer Review: Not Worth the Money!!

My main reason for buying this tool was that I usually will buy a factory reconditioned tool for the savings. In this case it was not worth it. I purchased this tool a couple of weeks ago and promptly returned it after about an hour of frustration and not being able to get it to do what it was supposed to do. The curb guide referred to in another response was the main culprit. I am not inclined to remove anything that is attached to a tool because the manufacturer puts it there for a reason. I also found that the blade continues to rotate for what I thought was an unsafe time after the power head was turned off. See my review of the Poulon Pro Edger Attachment for Trimmers #PP1000E, and spend a few dollars more for something that really works out of the box.
