Tools and Hardware Reviews of Fein MultiMaster FMM 250Q Top Variable Speed Sanding and Scraping/Cutting Tool with CaseCustomer Review: Fein Accessories a Rip Off Summary: 1 Stars
These guys have a decent tool, but go to buy a replacement blade after you've chewed up the piece of junk you got with the unit and you're going to be shocked. You're going to pay $28.00 or so for a piece of pressed tin that won't last you a week. They should caution "dont spindle fold or mutilate" on their packaging. Their blades are junk that you'll either pay their outrageous price for, or you'll have to abandon the tool. My advice would be to buy a tool that has blades available from different suppliers. These Fein folks don't understand the concept of customer loyalty. I guess they think that once you've bought their product, they've got a sucker on the hook who will pay whatever price they choose to ask for replacement parts. Do yourself a favor and look at the prices that Fein charges for each of their accessories BEFORE buying the Multimaster.

I just don't know where to begin. The Fein MultiMaster has unleashed me to be a Fein MultiMonster. I just finished sanding down my old cruddy front door to unreveal some very nice wood. I think I will paint it red too. What an unbelievable transformation. The transformation in me has been incredible as well. I love taking on home improvements jobs like a real pro. This makes the project well worth looking forward to instead of the usual dread. Money well spent. Look out kitchen, here I come.

Great Tool!!!! I don't know how I have lived without one. It is very expensive but but well worth it despite the cost. I use it every day and it makes difficult jobs easy.

I've been wondering about the Fein MultiMaster since I first saw the infomercials on TV. I thought it was a great idea for a new tool but if it was marketed this way it must be another pitch-man gadget. I saw it used on "This Old House" twice
by Tom Silva, the first time was just to show different tools for digging out old
grout. The next time I saw it used by Tom was to cut out a wall stud inside a tight
opening in a kitchen wall he had cut for an outside range hood vent. Both times the Fein was not used on screen for more that a few seconds but seeing it used in expert hands sold me more that the sham-wow type advertizing. (BTW this is the way TV advertizing should be, product placement in an interesting program and not hammered over the head every ten minutes by eight commercials.)
I bought the large set and have used it a few times in my kitchen remodel. I used
it to cut off fir strips that I left a little long after hanging a set of St Charles metal kitchen cabinets, removed some old tile grout off the floor and used it to cut out one side of an outlet close to an inside corner of one of the metal cabinets that my jigsaw could not reach. In all cases I could have gotten by without the MultiMaster but it has made these tasks fun and easy.

The sanding pad that hold the sand paper came off the first time I used it.
