When my last model of this light broke because of a lightning strike, I didn't hesitate to buy another one. The light is very accommodating as it can rotate in order to accommodate other adjacent plugs. The "lens" part of the light can also rotate to adjust where the light gets focused. As for brightness, it seems to be brighter than a standard 3w incandescent night light.Customer Review: Piercing blue beacon painfully ruins your dark adaptation

It is true that they turn on and off with the ambient light level, but they sadly failed to mention the color of the light. The piercing blue is painfully bright, far too bright for the middle of the night. What was so wrong with the warm, muted glow of more traditional night lights that it needed this improvement? While the wasted expense was not large enough to be tragic, the hunt for the new and improved night light must continue.

While this light certainly lights up a room, it's really too bright to be a night light. The quality of the light is harsh (think street light), and it's blinding to see in the middle of the night. We tried it in a variety of locations in the house and weren't happy with it anywhere. I think it's headed for the garage.
