Tools and Hardware Reviews of Fenix P1D CE, Black, 135 LumensCustomer Review: Holy Cow! Summary: 5 Stars
I have bought from Amazon since 1998, and this is the first review I have done. This light is amazing - it literally blinds you! It is brighter than all of my other LED lights, and I have a few. It is on my keychain and goes everywhere with me - I like the "bear claw", you can easily remove the light from your keychain for use. Go ahead and buy this one - you will not be disappointed.
Customer Review: It can't be that small! Summary: 5 Stars
You owe it to yourself to own a flashlight made using the Cree XR-E LED. It's roughly TWICE as bright as the currently comparable Luxeon LED. Also, the "regulator" circuitry keeps the light at a fairly constant level through the life of the battery (not all LED flashlights have this feature). It's small enough to be put on a keychain, yet puts out a powerful beam.
Customer Review: Mini mighty flashlight Summary: 5 Stars
Excellent product, very well built, and very strong beam considering the size. To turn it off/on and to choose the power setting for the beam, you have to unscrew the top a little bit. That bothered me at first, but after a while you get used to it. I have it in my pocket at all times cause it's great help, and it even has a strobe setting that could serve as a warning light if you have car trouble on the highway at night.
Customer Review: My favorite carry light Summary: 5 Stars
This is a really good light to carry around with you. I use a protected rechargeable cr123a, so that I don't have to buy a bunch of cr123a's. The SOS flashes really slow and only lasts about 5 hours, so I question it's actual usefulness. There is also a tiny dark ring around the hotspot in the light, but in normal usage I don't notice it. You twist on for primary brightness. If you twist off then on again (in less 1.5 seconds or it resets) it goes to high brightness. Twist off then on it goes to low brightness, etc... The twist on/off/on interface to change settings can be a little clumsy one handed, but after a bit of practice I manage it just fine. Ok, with that out of the way, this light blows me away! On high it dimly lights up the picnic table in the park across the street 75 yards away. At 25 yards it lights everything in my backyard. That is really amazing in a light that isn't much bigger than my thumb. The low setting is still quite bright and will last all night long on my rechargeable (and that only has about half the endurance of a non rechargeable). It easily fits in my pocket on my keychain. I just can't get over how bright it is for it's size! I carry it everywhere now.
Customer Review: Phenomenal flashlight Summary: 5 Stars
There's not much more to be said that hasn't already from the previous reviews -- this flashlight is fantastic. Tiny size with a huge amount of light output. One reviewer commented on the pain in switching between modes -- I found it pretty easy to learn quickly and cycle through them, but perhaps a tail button/switch would have helped more than twisting the head.
I bought this for a recent trip to Costa Rica where I'd be "roughing" it a bit in the middle of the jungle (Osa peninsula). Our guides had the "nightstick" style Mag-lite flashlights, and they were very envious of mine. The light this little Fenix throws off well exceeded what theirs did with 4 D batteries.
After the trip, I have found numerous other uses for it around the house, from taking the trash out to checking the chimney flue, to inspecting stud bays when doing remodeling work. It stands on it's tail very well and the size makes it applicable to virtually any situation. Highly recommended and would definitely buy again!
