I hope that when a fire strikes, and the the sprinklers go off that my goods will be protected. I am worried however because every time I close this document protector for an extended period of time, I open it to find moist documents. California is a fairly dry climate. I'm really not sure why this is happening, but I put my documents in a ziplock bag. Hopefully that will keep them safe from the safe.

This UL classified First Alert media protection chest is tested to withstand an external temperature up to 1550 degrees for 1/2 hour and independently verified to protect electronic media, such as memory sticks, CD's, DVD's and external hard drives.Passports, birth certificates, electronics, and valuables--these are the important things that need to be protected from fire. This Honeywell fire safe does just that; protecting documents and valuables from 1,550-degree F temperatures for up to thirty minutes. The safe offers approximately 298 cubic inches of storage space, and comes with a 1-push latch and lock system for added convenience. An integrated handle means easy transport. With inside dimensions of 11.33 by 7.09 by 3.7 inches, this UL listed safe offers plenty of room for all those important items.
