Tools and Hardware Reviews of First Alert 2017F Fire and Water Chest, 0.19 Cubic Foot, GrayCustomer Review: Good Quality Not sized appropriately on the inside Summary: 3 Stars
Good quality safe; however, it was documented that it would hold 8 1/2" x 11" legal papers. You have to stuff them in and crickle the sides to make it work. Otherwise, it meets my needs.
Customer Review: Good Safe Summary: 5 Stars
This is a good safe for our application. Of course we have not tested its fire and waterproofing capabilities, but I'll take their word for it. This safe is Heavy and therefore not very portable. If you are looking for a safe for theft security, this is not it. The small weak lock has the key code stamped on it, so if a thief didn't want to break it open, they could call and order a key. Overall, worth the $39 for peace of mind in case of a fire.
Customer Review: Good Value Summary: 5 Stars
This document safe is a good value when purchased with free shipping. I'm not concerned with the supposition that a fire may melt the box or fuze it together. The manufacturer will replace the item if it is ever damaged in a fire.
Customer Review: Good box Summary: 5 Stars
The firesafe box is doing what it needs to do, short of lighting it on fire to test it, it keeps my important documents safe. If nothing else I have peace of mind.
Customer Review: Good value Summary: 5 Stars
Product description meets reality.
The latches work. The hinges work.
The lock is fine -- it probably could be broken fairly easily, but since someone could carry the box away, it really does not have to be that sturdy.
I hope never to know if the contents survive a fire.
Purchased to force myself to keep all the critical paper in one place.
