Customer Review: An Excellent Safe For the Money

I've had this safe for almost four months now, and this is an excellent safe for the money. I've been meaning to get a safe for quite a few years now but could not decide on which one to get. When I narrowed my lengthy search to this safe, I was concerned from reading the other reviews that there's a high chance that it would get damaged during shipment.
But I decided to take a chance and ordered it anyway. When the safe arrived two days later, there were a few slight dents on the corners (how can you dent a safe so easily?!), but there no cracks (cracks will affect its fire, water, and anti-theft capability, so be sure to send it back if you see any), so I was happy with it. But I have to say, the factory cardboard packaging that the safe came in was all torn and beat-up. I am really surprised that Honeywell packages such a large safe so poorly. The only styrofoam that came with the packaging was on the keyboard and door handle. The rest of the safe was wrapped with thin cardboard with no additional cushioning, so it's no surprise that so many other safes were damaged upon arrival. I guess I was one of the lucky ones who only had a few dents on the corners of my safe.
The combination code for the safe is easy to program, and it's been working just fine. I don't open the safe often, but it never gives me any problems whenever I do.
I didn't want to spend more on more secure safes, so this one was perfect for me. It's provides the security that I'm comfortable with and is very roomy on the inside.
So all in all, this is an excellent safe, and worth every penny. I would recommend it highly.
On a side note, SentrySafe is another brand worth considering if you're looking for a good safe.

Seems like a nice safe, but Amazon can't ship it without damage. The first safe arrived with the box all torn up and the safe was damaged on three corners. Amazon sent a replacement safe overnight UPS. The second box was not as bad, but one corner of the safe was smashed in. I considered keeping it and asking for a discount, but it is probably not fire proof anymore, so I sent it back.
DO NOT BUY THIS SAFE FROM AMAZON! They cannot ship it properly.

I had been looking for a safe for 2 years - not sure which on to get - was worried about not having enough room or it being too heavy. Honeywell 1.31 cubic foot is the best one for me. This safe replaced a Sentry safe that I had for many years. I wanted a replacement that was easier to use so that is why I bought the digital version of this product. Digital is much easier to use than turning a dial. This safe has concealed hinges which would make it more difficult to open than one having exposed hinges. It came with two keys for use in case the batteries go dead. The only thing that I found to be a drawback was that the adjustable shelf was somewhat flimsy.Customer Review: Good Product - Needs better shipping though

I have been using this product for about 2 months now. I read the previous reviews and was worried about the shipping but decided to order it anyway.
Well it came in a few days....and it was damaged. The package was obviously dropped and the plastic was dented/cracked in a few places. The door still opened though and still seemed to seal well. However, I don't spend this kind of money and then expect to recieve it damaged. I called amazon and they promplty returned my call, set up a return shipment (at no cost to me)and it was picked up the next day by UPS. About 3 days later I recieved an email that said another safe was on the way. Luckily the new safe was packaged with the original box, packed inside another larger box that was padded well. The new safe was in great shape and it works great. Lots of room inside. Easy to open - we use it several times a day and haven't had any issues with it yet. If they package it well, I am sure most will be satisfied with it. Thanks to Amazon, overall this purchase weent fairly well and I still saved money over buying one locally.
