Tools and Hardware Reviews of First Alert EL52-2 Two-Story 14-Foot Escape Ladder

Customer Review: Excellent and easy
Summary: 5 Stars

This escape ladder is great! It folds up nicely, and can be stored in its own box. My children, twins age 14, were able to practice fire drills, and easily fold it back up in the box. It is invaluable knowing my kids can get out safely from a second floor room. More over, the price made it very affordable.

Customer Review: First Alert 2 story Escape ladder
Summary: 5 Stars

The 2 story escape ladder is perfect for my log cabin. There is only one staircase to the second floor. If a fire blocked that escape we would need to use a window. The ladder makes it safer.

Customer Review: First Alert EL52-2 Two-Story 14 foot escape ladder
Summary: 5 Stars

Very good product. Well made and sturdy. The ladder is 14 foot long but folds up into a small storage box which can easily be stored under a bed or into a closet taking up very little room. I would not be afraid of it falling apart whenever it would be needed.

Customer Review: Good safety thing to have
Summary: 4 Stars

Still in the box waiting to be used. Should probably open it up and test it out for a drill. Looked at it and read the instructions. Seems simple enough, hook on window sill and let the ladder fall. Would recommend a device like this for families with bed rooms on the second floor.

Customer Review: Good solid escape ladder
Summary: 5 Stars

We tried this ladder and it works well. It is not pleasant crawling out a 2nd story window but this ladder performs well after you do. It's easy to deploy with a strap holding the rungs together until mounted. You open the big velcro strap to let them fall. The rubber feet seem less likely to damage the wall or cut through siding than the sharp metal standoffs on some other ladders. There was no warning about one-time use on this ladder so we practiced. This is critical to both test the function and become familiar with it before any emergency use. With some strap refolding I got it back into the strap and original box cleanly.

Very cheap protection against being trapped by a fire.
