Tools and Hardware Reviews of First Alert PIR720RN Motion Sensing Light Socket

Customer Review: Died after a few days, DOES NOT work with CFLs
Summary: 1 Stars

The product was problematic at first because it doesn't work with Compact Flourescent Lights, which is all I have in my home. But the one star review is because when I did put a regular bulb in it, it died after just 2 days and I had to return it. For the two days it did work it was fine - a slight delay before it would recognize the motion but was useable.

Customer Review: Does not work through glass
Summary: 2 Stars

It does not work through glass, which is the only way it would work in my case. I returned it.

Customer Review: Does not work with CFLs
Summary: 1 Stars

Blinked on and off when used with a CFL. Made the unit unusable, returned for refund. Also the delay seems to long (4 minutes before turning off) for most uses. Kind of defeats the energy savings if you have to use it with an incandescent bulb.

Customer Review: Does the Job
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought this sensor for my garage so I wouldn't have to remember to turn the lights on before going there. It works just as I'd hoped. I have two and after 3 months they still work fine.

Customer Review: Does what I wanted
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought this for my garage. It works perfectly when the motion it's detecting is the garage door opening. Since what I wanted was to have the garage lighted when I go in there at night and to do that I have to open the garage door, it's doing exactly what I wanted it to do. When I wanted it to notice ME in the garage, I had to walk over and wave both arms before it went on. To be fair, however, the instructions say that it works best on the ceiling and this unit is not only on a wall, it's also blocked by a wood strut on one side and by the car parked in front of me.
