We have owned several of these units. They are fine (if they work at all) for a few months, then they stop working; they do not turn off after 10 minutes. The warranty is for 3 years, and we have used it twice. Look for an alternative, there are several. This product is inferior.Customer Review: Energy saver

I installed these in my basement so I sisn't have to fumble for pull switches. I installed 5 of them. My Energy bill has already lowered. You cannot use the CFL lightbulbs you have to use the old kind. These are great!!Customer Review: Exactly as described

The motion detector works exactly as described, and is a godsend in my garage. I'm actually having an electrician install 2 more light sockets in my garage, and will be ordering 2 more First Alert Motions Sensing Light sockets. My wish list for the next version would be to not stay on so long, and to work with the energy efficient blulbs.Customer Review: Excellent Purchase!

I purchased three of these and have been using them for a year now on a daily basis, multiple times a day.
They are excellent for entrances, hallways, etc. as the new Compact Fluorescent Bulbs (CFLs) should be left on for at least 15 minutes once turned on before being turned off or else the bulb life is shortened (that's why incandescent are still very useful for quick on/off operations).
I mainly use CFLs in the house but use incandescent bulbs with these. THEY ONLY WORK WITH CONVENTIONAL INCANDESCENT BULBS(but it's not a major problem since they automatically shut off after 4 minutes)
The model in particular is very nice because it silent on/off (other generic models make a minor "click" notice every time they turn on and off).
Also, compared to other generic models, the SENSORS ON THESE ARE VERY PRECISE.
It is well-worth the money. Highly recommended!!
