About a week after we installed the first one, it started chirping (like a low battery warning). We swapped the battery and after a few days it started chirping again. We returned it for a replacement, but the same thing happened to the second unit. I tested the batteries and they were fully charged. This may be just a faulty lot of detectors. We will be returning the second unit and looking for another model that we can depend on.Customer Review: Easy Install

These smoke detectors do not use radioactive materials and they were an easy install and replacement for the radioactive smoke detectors in my bedrooms. I could not find non-radioactive smoke detectors where I live so I was happy to order three of these units.Customer Review: Excellent!

3 of these failed between year 1 and year 2. As someone said how fun it is when the unit alarms for no reason in the middle of the night. Kitchen unit goes off when kitchen is warm . Will never buy this brand again.
