If you can trust "here-say", then keep reading. I am the father of seven children, and we have heated with wood for the last 18 years or so. I can't tell you how many mauls we have purchased, and broken. Wooden, Fiberglass ... it didn't matter. They basically, eventually, got the job done, but it was always a real chore ... and not a pleasant one. This "Super Splitting Axe" is by far the best that anyone in our family has ever used. And here comes the "here-say" part ... I haven't even used it yet. My children have not let me! My nine year old son says that he will never use anything else. That's right ... my nine year old son won't let me use "his" splitting axe. He was so excited about it, he gave me ten dollars towards the purchase price. Don't buy another imitation maul. Get this one by Fiskars.
