Tools and Hardware Reviews of Fiskars 7858 Pro Chopping AxeCustomer Review: One of my favorite tools!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I don't know about anyone else out there, but I have managed to break several axes in my time, some just because they were getting old and couldn't take the strain anymore, others because I missed the wood and hit the handle shattering it into several flying and dangerous pieces!
This however is an axe I could never imagine breaking, even if I tried.
First the axe is so light it is easy to control your swing, second, the handle is made of an other wordly substance which seems impervious to anything! Thirdly, the axe is so sharp (I keep it sharp with the Fiskars sharpener tool) it cuts great and I dont need to hit the wood soooooo many times.
I have been very pleased with this little beauty, and have to say that others have looked on and expressed desire to own, or even just have a go with it, kinda like I expect the reactions would be if I owned a Ferrari.
In fact I think that just about sums up my review, this axe is the Ferrari of axes, but much more cost efficient!
Customer Review: Really Great Axe Summary: 5 Stars
This is surprisingly a really great axe. It is light weight but don't let that fool you. It cuts deeper than the Snow & Nealley axe I had been using until the head came off the handle. This axe doesn't show any signs of the head being able to come off the handle as the handle is made over the axe head. I find this axe to be more accurate than my Snow & Nealley as well. This may be due to the handle, which is straight and not curved. It is hard to find a single bit axe with a straight handle. I have been really impressed with this axe and would recommend it to anyone for a chopping axe. It probably would not make a great splitting axe, though.
Customer Review: The Best! Summary: 5 Stars
This axe is simply amazing. Nicely sized and weighted for a 5'3" woman. Incredibly sharp. You can't go wrong with this one.
Customer Review: The Wow Axe! Summary: 5 Stars
This axe cuts wonderfully. I have only chopped down 1 tree with it thus far so I can't say much about durability or blade retention however I can't see where there should be any problems. It is very light and easy to swing but still took massive chunks out of the Hackberry tree I chopped down. It feels alot more precise than other axes I have used and absorbs alot more shock too. This axe is bad for the environment because it makes me want to chop down every tree I see. I think this axe will more than satisfy the needs of any homeowner with less than 40 acres.
Customer Review: The best combination of weight and toughness... Summary: 5 Stars
I have no complaints about this ax at all. Got one to clear brush on three acres of woods, but everyone kept wanting to use it instead of me. Had to end up buying two more, plus two Fiskars hatchets. Holds a good edge (certainly better than any other ax I've had) and light weight makes it easier to work with for hours at a time.
