Three years ago I moved apartments and left behind a wall-mounted tie rack (it was mounted to the wall inside a closet and was forgotten in the move). Since then I have had my ties draped over a hanger in my closet. Every now and then I would find one that had fallen to the floor, ending up a wrinkled mess.
I ignored the issue for the last 3 years, but this item popped up on some random list of recommendations from Amazon. On an impulse I purchased it and could not be happier with the results. The non-slip surface is not the least bit gummy. In fact, it doesn't really feel particularly non-slip to my fingers. The ties however do not slip when placed on the hanger - something about how the hanger interacts with the tie material.
I highly recommend this product.
