I'm really glad I purchased this dehumidifier. After a TON of research, I chose this one for Energy Star status, Consumer Reports recommendation, and price.
Also, a very important thing I learned about dehumidifiers, is that just about all of them have an automatic shut off once a set humidity level is reached BUT for some models, it's only the condenser that turns off and the fan continues to run. I wanted one that shuts off completely and this one does that. Once it reaches the humidity setting, the condenser turns off and the fan runs for several more minutes then shuts off, too. I think this is a really important feature for the sake of energy usage.
Oh, and it does a great job in dehumidifying. I have it in my basement that is humid but only slightly damp feeling from time to time and it pulls a ton of moisture out of the air. I haven't yet hooked up a hose for continuous drainage, which I am planning on doing, but for now it's fun to empty the bucket just to see how much moisture there is in a basement that has less a problem with dampness but did have mustiness issues. And, since it's in the basement, noise isn't even a question. I don't hear it upstairs at all.

I'll be upfront, this is my first dehumidifier purchase. After reading some of the reviews I was a bit concerned as to the noise, heat & ease-of-use for any product, not to mention the quality.
Having owned this product for a month now, I could not be more pleased. The fan always runs & the compressor kicks on when it's actually pulling water out of the air. It does get hot (like the outside part of a window A/C unit), but it's directed to one side.
It's not a silent product, but it's also not too much louder than a box fan.
I run mine during the day to dry out my bedroom & bathroom (which get really humid). When I come home the bucket's full & I don't have to deal with any of the negative aspects (heat, noise). I can't speak to the durability yet, but the bucket is easy to remove & dump.
I would definitely purchase this product again.

The bucket is hard to take out without spilling water. Other than that it is perfect.
