Tools and Hardware Reviews of Frigidaire 70-Pint Dehumidifier

Customer Review: Frigidaire 70-Pint Dehumidifier
Summary: 5 Stars

The Frigidaire 70-Pint Dehumidifier has been working perfectly since its installation. The low fan setting is reasonably quiet though I normally use the higher setting. I like the following features over other units I have owned. The water level gauge built into the front of the water collection bucket. The water bucket has a clear top to allow easy inspection for cleaning. The humidy level indicator shows the rooms actual humidy level as well as the setting you have selected.
The only fault I have found is the water collection bucket was hard to remove when I first started using this unit. As the unit has been in use this has become easier to remove with each service.

Customer Review: Frigidaire Dehumidifier
Summary: 5 Stars

Product was delivered w/in days, required virtually no set up. Best of all, the product manual was clearly and concisely written. All solenoid buttons were easy to understand and unit operates well. Large tank is readily removable for emptying, and with garden hose connected (purchased separately), drains via gravity. Good product, good price.

So far it seems like it takes a lot of water out. It would be good if you can channel a hose to the outside. I don't have that privilege, so I need to empty the bucket often. I was very pleased ordering from Amazon.com.

Customer Review: Frigidaire dehumidifier
Summary: 4 Stars

We recently bought this unit to replace a borrowed one that was over 20 years old and still running strong. So far, the Frigidaire is working fine and after a couple weeks of emptying the water we have switched to the hose method. The unit seems to be built well and is easy to set up. The reservoir is a little tricky to remove and replace but stays in place once it's in. I gave it four stars so far but it might be more depending on how the electronics hold up.

Customer Review: Frigidare vs LG Dehumidifiers
Summary: 4 Stars

I live in San Francisco's East Bay where fog and high humidity can make houses unpleasant with mold and mildew (no air-conditioning needed and minimal gas heat year around). So having a dehumidifier running 24/7/365 is a good idea for investing kilowatts. I bought 2 LG units about 18 months apart and each failed when the Freon levels dropped so low the unit short cycled and then iced up and eventually stopped removing moisture.
It took some work to find an alternative that was not made by LG (lots of private labeling or units with same controls and outer case appearance), this Frigidaire seemed the best of the lot and roughly the same price from one on line source. It is about 4 months old, and surprisingly not as noisy as the LG in my installation near my home office. Will let you know if it passes 24 months without loosing it's gas.
