This AC was surprisingly easy to install and fit perfectly in the cut out of my security bars. It took a bit to center the unit and I had to use a power screwdriver for the top bar. All in all, a 20 minute endeavor for one person.
From the first few minutes, the AC cooled the room (12'x14') down and kept it nice the whole night. Every desirable option is there - remote, thermostat, auto shut-off - and they work perfectly. I especially liked the thermostat option for nights, so it would keep the room cool without staying on all night.
It's pretty quiet and I had no issues whatsoever with noise with the unit very close to my bed.
When removing the AC, I didn't drain it properly (you need to leave it at least half a day) so the floor got soaked, but it wasn't bad at all.

I couldn't even pass out this air conditioner is so loud! I got it last summer for my unbearably hot college apartment and everything went swimmingly. It was a little loud, like the air flow was loud, but it was kind of a soothing noise. Now, luckily a little less than a year later, it is SUPER loud, it revs up, rattles, and rolls. It kind of sounds like a dishwasher disposal. I called up Frigidaire and they said that my model is unrepairable and must be replaced. Luckily I didn't procrastinate on this because my one-year warranty is almost up!
I barely recommend this air conditioner. If you are desperate get a warranty and plan on having it replaced. It's even too loud for drunk sleep!

This AC unit has been great. I've had luck with 3 frigidaires thus far over the last 5 years ranging from 18,000 to 5200 BTU's. the features are great and the unit runs perfectly. I'd recommend them to anyone. Set the temp and leave for the day to keep a constant room temp or set the timer and walk in later as it turns itself on.Customer Review: Frigidaire ACs have gotten even better

This model is excellent. I ordered it to replace a similar Frigidaire from 2003. The older model was fine, but this new one is really great-- excellent energy efficiency rating, updated controls with remote, and programmable temperature and fan adjustment to perfection! I set it exactly how I needed it for a comfortable night. Never too cold nor not cold enough. It's also quieter, and according to my friend who installed it for me and got rid of the older one, much much lighter.
At such a great value and such quick (and free) deliver on Amazon, I am really satisfied.
