Tools and Hardware Reviews of Frigidaire FAA065P7A 6,000 BTU MSII Air Conditioner with Electronic ControlsCustomer Review: Lasted Only 1 Season. Now Blows Room-Temp Air, Like Fan Summary: 3 Stars
Worked well at first. Did it's job, at least. Got the room cold...but it's only a bit larger than a king size bed. Well worth $150, but should work for longer than just one season. Mine came with a remote, guessing this does too. Plan on buying different brand, if I can find one. I'm pretty sure I got the frigidaire at Walmart, so they're probably all the same. This is my first review less than 5 stars. Usually I'm pretty happy with stuff... gb
Customer Review: Lightweight, efficient, great value Summary: 5 Stars
It just started getting warm here in NY and my 10 year old air conditioner was on it's last legs. I was tired of going to local retail stores and having very limited options and information on what I was buying. I was looking for something very efficient to help offset the recent electricity rate hike here in NY. I chose this model because of the reviews and energy conservation features it offered.
Out of the box the first thing I noticed was how lightweight and compact it was. I'm used to the bulky, hungry air conditioners from earlier in the decade which made installing and removing a two-person event. I was able to lift this into my window with minimal effort in comparison.
I was very surpised to notice that for such a low price, this item came with an ionizer which charges and removes dust particules from the air. Also it has a "sleep" mode which gradually increases the temperature on the unit to coincide with natural changes in temperature so you don't wake up frozen in the morning.
The first night of use with "Sleep" mode and "Clean Air" activated I woke up comfortable and had an easier time breathing. Best air conditioner I've purchased so far, would recommend to friends.
Customer Review: Loud and Lets in Daylight Summary: 3 Stars
The unit is loud with fan on even at low setting and it does not improve when on a/c. Also no one has mentioned the fact that it lets in a huge amount of daylight which is a pain when you have it in a bedroom. No other a/c we have used lets in light like this, what a design fault. I have had to put a mat on top of the outside and even this does not stop the light getting thru.
Customer Review: Makes a good doorstop Summary: 1 Stars
It worked alright for the first two months or so. My second summer it got less and less cooler. Now it will knock about 5 degrees off the outside temp. I contacted the service dept and it is past one year, so if I want it fixed (the sealed system is supposed to be covered) I have to pay a 88 dollar service fee. In other words it's going in the trash where it belongs.
Customer Review: Might buy a second unit Summary: 5 Stars
Works great. Not too noisy to sleep with it on. All the functions work as described. If I decide I need another one I would get the same one again.
