Tools and Hardware Reviews of Frigidaire FAX052P7A Window Unit Air ConditionerCustomer Review: Badly Dented Summary: 1 Stars
I sent this air conditioner back because it was caved in on one side. Definitely did not happen in shipment as the box was intact. Had to go thru the trouble to return it. Amazon made the return easy but I still had to drive this thing to the Post office and place it on the counter! FUN! I would only buy an air conditioner from a store but I guess the same thing could have happened there. The box looks fine, then you get it home, cut the whole box open and find that it's caved in on one side! I received an email from Amazon that I should be receiving my refund shortly.

Although this product will function as advertised, be aware that when the compressor kicks in, it is REALLY noisy. Not just a simple buzzing, but rather a low, loud, hum that will actually travel through the walls to other rooms in the house.
Customer Review: Compact and cool! Summary: 5 Stars
The Golf Teacher's Wife speaks out: Thank goodness I ordered this AC! I was on strike in my kitchen - summertime heat has already got me sweating over the stove - I needed a small and powerful AC - not a combination I expected to find so easily! I read the other reviews here before I ordered; I think Frigidaire must have read them, too, because I had absolutely NO PROBLEMS with this AC! DAY 1 - I ordered it. DAY 2 - Amazon shipped it. DAY 3 - It arrived and we had it installed in less than 1 hour! Unpacking it was a cakewalk; we cut the cord around the box, took off the lid and BOOM! it was ready to go in - the only foam on the sides just fell away! We installed in in a window that was just over 13" x 30" and it fit like it was made to order. From the moment I turned it on till right now, it is running quietly and effectively in my kitchen. My husband will actually get to eat real cooking as I will now return to my kitchen to cook! This would be great for a bedroom, a dorm room or as AC in the computer room! Totally affordable at $109.99 and free shipping; this includes the 1 year warranty on all parts and labor. The AC came with an offer from Frigidaire to extend the warranty to 3 years for an additional $31.90 which I opted for immediately. This is a small investment for total service up to and including replacement. I can tell you this... I don't ever want to spend another summer in my kitchen without it and with this warranty, it's a no-brainer! Buy this AC with complete confidence!Frigidaire FAX052P7A Window Unit Air Conditioner
Customer Review: Cool Running Summary: 4 Stars
I like the air conditioner. I was nervous from reading the reviews that it would be very noisy, but it seems no noisier than any other air conditioner.
I have a "cage" around my window (bars, which are commonplace in city apartments) so I needed something super shallow. This one was far too deep, but I did something that the manufacturer probably wouldn't recommend: I duct taped all the vents that would be inside my apartment and then used insulation around the screens and in the window to make a barrier. I was afraid that this might reduce the effectiveness of the unit, but it has worked fine all summer, even in very hot and humid conditions.
Though I wouldn't mind it being even colder, the BTUs are appropriate and my room is very cold. I would recommend this air conditioner as one that works well and has moderate noise -- even when jury-rigged.
Customer Review: Cools but extraordinarily loud. Does not work well in rain. Summary: 2 Stars
This air conditioner is used for a dorm unit of about 150 sq ft. Despite that the unit cools the room quickly and well, it is extremely noisy. The front plastic cage will rattle perpetually. When raining, the unit's fan will sound sluggish, wet, and will cause the unit to be noisier. Though cheap, I would not recommend this unit for a dorm.
