Bought 4 remotes and 4 outlets, all worked but I had to "play" with them. There are 4 "house" settings in addition to the 8 channels. I couldn't get the remotes to do what I wanted until I changed those on both the remote and outlet pairs.
The remotes work well at 30 to 40 feet but in the dark it is a little difficult to change channels. These seem to work better than other remotes I've had.
Would I buy/recommend these? For the price and flexibility - Yes.

Claimed a range of 100 to 150ft & the fact is 5 ft or less & you have to point right at the receiver to have it working!! It carried a GE logo, what a shame!Customer Review: range not enough

I tried to position outside behind shed to control lights around 100 ft. Didn't work. Needs line of sight probably.
