Customer Review: Excessive packaging is REALLY ANNOYING!!!!
Summary: 3 Stars
First -- I know that compact flourescent dimmable bulbs don't work like incandescent -- they don't dim as much and the light isn't as warm. This said, of all of the CFL dimmables I've used, these seem to be about as good as any.
HOWEVER -- Why all the excessive packaging? I find it terribly insulting for General Electric to tell me how wonderfully recyclable all their packaging is -- with the implication that it's my responsibility to recycle it -- when they were the ones who came up with such wasteful packaging in the first place!
(The fact that they brag about their packaging is from recycled products really doesn't impress me much. Who doesn't package in recycled products these days? This is so routine! However, the excessive packaging still takes more energy to create and ship and store -- and then leaves the onus of dealing with the consumer. Really, can't they do better?????)
ADDITIONALLY -- opening this package was so tough -- I even resorted to an industrial strength pair of scissors -- that I could barely even open it. Then, after opening one of the packages (I recently bought four), the light bulb fell out (because it was so tough to open) and landed on the floor -- breaking into a million pieces! What a nice waste of $12!!!!
Can anyone explain to me why General Electric would go to such lengths to totally annoy their customers? The product is decent, but the hassles and wastefulness of the packaging causes me to give this product only three stars.
