Description of Garden Auger Bulb Planter 2.75" x 24" Heavy Duty

YOU MUST SUPPLY YOUR OWN DRILL to use with this auger. Any corded 3/8'' or larger drill will power this auger. If using cordless, an 18 volt DeWalt or Milwaukee is recommended for best results. Remember, any corded 3/8'' or 1/2'' drill will power this auger.

This heavy duty bulb and garden auger features a thick, hardened steel cutter blade at the start of the spiral to provide a superior cutting edge for digging in harder soil like clay. Like all Custom Auger Garden Augers, the thicker 3/8'' shaft does have flats on the end to provide a 'seat' so you can get a good grip on it when you tighten your drill chuck.

The heavy duty garden auger by Custom Auger Systems is designed to last longer and perform better under less than ideal conditions. Always wear your safety goggles when using the auger and always know where your electric and gas lines are located.

HELPFUL HINTS

Make sure the flats on the auger shaft line up with the flats in the drill chuck, before tightening the chuck securely. You have to look closely when you chuck up on the auger to achieve this.

The auger will spin on top of the ground and not penetrate soil if your drill is in reverse gear. The auger will not seem to dig at all if the drill is in reverse.

Hold the auger straight up and down when digging soil. Don't use the auger as a pry bar.

Use the lowest possible gear setting on your drill and hold the drill with both hands.
