Tools and Hardware Reviews of Gerber 22-01506 Clutch Mini Pliers Keychain Tool, Special Ops GrayCustomer Review: Plyers are useless Summary: 1 Stars
Pliers broke with almost no pressure, piece of junk knife. Spend a extra couple dollars and get a better brand.
Customer Review: Sexy but don't expect long term commitment Summary: 3 Stars
Useful combination of tools and great snap-shut design makes this tool sexy and you'll develop an attachment to it. However, there will also be heart ache, which for me was that the pliers snapped after about 6 months of use when I used a bit too much force on them one time. Given the quality, don't pay over $15 for it.
Customer Review: Slick little tool Summary: 4 Stars
Nice looking tool thats small enough to fit on a keychain. Blade is very sharp, but other tools are lacking. No good tool for bottle opener. Pliers are very sturdy and precise.
Customer Review: So-So Gerber Product Summary: 2 Stars
Picked it up on sale for $9 bucks. After using it a few times, I wish I would have spent the money on a large pizza. I wanted to give this to my wife for everyday use, but the quality is not very good. The various blades are so difficult to pull out my wife broke a nail on the first try to access the flat head screwdriver. I checked it out and found that using a key on my key chain worked best, but using an object to access multi tool kinda defeats the purpose doesn't it. I thought to loosen the screws a bit, but found that I would need the worlds smallest allen wrench/ star key. Instead of buying a new set of star wrenches I decided to cut my loss and tossed it into my junk drawer. Sorry Gerber; I love your Gator knife (awesome knife!) and other products, but you guys missed with this one.
Customer Review: Useless, probably dangerous. Summary: 1 Stars
I usually leave reviews for products that I am enthusiastic about. In this case, I feel a duty to warn others about shoddy quality. The pliers on mine collapsed the first time I used them with moderate pressure (trying to break a small piece of plastic). Now the pliers are unusable. Just unbelievable for a name-brand product. A level of quality you might expect from some imported junk sold at a flea market for $1.
As if that is not enough, the bottle opener is so poor that I actually cut myself using it. Now how hard is it to provide a usable version of such a dead-simple tool? And from other reviewers experience with the knife blade failing, I am concerned that a really serious accidental cut could be caused by that weakness.
Please don't waste your money or risk your safety with this product. The garbage can is the best place for one of these. That's where mine is.
