Quality material and good workmanship. You will be able to dig holes and pound stakes with this. Keep in mind though that it is small, not a full size portable shovel, but not small enough to make itself useless. Took off a star because of the dull edge (that I also sharpened with a grinder) and the lack of ways to secure it to a pack. The bag that comes with it is decent enough, but you have to put the bag and shovel in another pouch to actually secure it. I wouldn't want this thing hanging off my backpack or belt by the string tie. Having said that, it's probably worth the less than $20 you're going to spend for it.Customer Review: Good shovel!

I purchased this to carry in the car during winter. We live in the mountains where you need to put chains on anywhere. This is small enough to fit in the trunk but a life saver when you need it.
