What can I say it is a Gerber.
I was having trouble with the liner lock Quick folders. They opened fine but you really had to use 2 hands to close them or risked cutting yourself. With the Gerber side switch lock your finger is no where near the blade when you close it. "So no missing finger tip".
Here is the deal: I order these two Gerber's just for back up. I misplaced the one I have been caring since last Christmas,I was 99% sure it would and did show up, but I feel better having the back ups.
Ya I am a old man, carried a pocket knife for 40+ years even to class in High School. And this one is one of the BEST

I own about seven knives and this is most definitely one of my favorites.This knife is designed very well and built very well.The size and light weight make it perfect for carrying in pocket for everyday use.The spring assist whips the blade out very quickly.A safety switch on the handle prevents this knife from opening inadvertently and the blade needs to be pushed out a fair ways before the spring activates.This knife arrived at my door razor sharp and in perfect condition.If I were to change anything on this knife it would be the handle plates,they look kind of cheap and are not the most attractive.For the price this is a great knife and I highly recommend it.Customer Review: F.A.S.T Technology

Forward Action Spring Technology works great. This knife opens almost as fast as a switchblade but it is legal. The locking mechanism is superb. This Gerber is definitely the best pocket knife I've ever owned.
I high recommend this knife to anyone who needs a good dependable knife.

Piece of junk in my opinion. The tip of the blade was rounded, the edge lasted a couple days, the locking mechanism is an insufferable POS and the "safety lock" inadvertently locks so when you pull the knife out you have to fumble with it to get it open. I had this knife for a few days and it ended up in a drawer. I bought the Kershaw Tanto Blur and it is 100 times the knife this one is for about $20 more. I would not recommend this knife. The Kershaw is American made and much higher quality. As far as I know, the Gerber is made in China and it is just about as good as you would expect from a Chinese made knife.Customer Review: Gerber 22 fast draw spring assisted knife

you will not be disappointed with this folding knife,,,It will disappear in your pocket, on a belt sheath or if your careful it has the belt clip also...the blade,out of the box, is like a surgeons scalpel,,very,very sharp,,the spring assist will move the blade out in an instant..the knife has a small safety latch that will keep the blade locked in your pocket and locked open when in use...this knife gets 5 stars for sure....Bryan C in Idaho
