When I first received this knife, I was surprised with the "quick draw" capability. I was also quite impressed about the blades sharpness when received. The shipping was quick and fast. Owned the knife for 3 weeks now and haven't been able to put it down since. When I received it, unlike the other line of Gerber spring assisted knives, it instead of a knob to push for the blade to pop out. Instead you just have to push the knob on side of the blade.
Overall.
Great knife, a bit touchy on the opening mechanism, great locking system, and overall great knife.

Great Knife at a super price. It has a safety switch to prevent accidental opening. When the switch is in open position the blade springs open easily. I was at a sporting goods store and given a demo on several spring assisted knives this was just as good as the more expensive models.
It takes some practice to master the smooth one hand open.

I bought this knife simply because of the price, but the quality completely suprised me. Don't get me wrong, it isn't the quality of the $300 knives that seem to be so popular. I wanted a knife I wouldn't feel guilty using on everyday tasks, or God forbid lost it. The spring-assist feature is awesome and has funtioned flawlessly. I wasn't excited with the safety switch, but it has grown on me and isn't an issue anymore. The blade itself is good enough for everyday use and the length is perfect for constant carry. Not too long, not too short. I wish they would have shipped it a little sharper, but for the price and maybe safety protocals I'm not going to complain. This is my fourth Gerber knife and I've loved everyone. This is an awesome knife. Just had to say that first. I got it right on time, and once I took it out of the packaging, I immediately noticed how light and comfortable it is to hold. It also holds an edge very well, and is actually one of the safest knives I have ever used. It has a good, solid locking mechanism that prevents it from opening until you want it to. It is also very easy to open, due to the spring assisted opening. I bring it just about everywhere except school, and I don't even notice it in my pocket. The clip is very sturdy and absolutely will not let the knife come out of your pocket unless you take it out. Overall, this knife is an absolutely fantastic value and I would quickly recommend it to any friend (or stranger). Great Knife!!!
