Customer Review: Good little knife but impossible to sharpen

I have had this knife for about 1.5 years and it is a great knife for EDC (everyday carry). It is light and I have had no problems with durability. You can't pry stuff with it but it handles day to day chores well. However, if I had to buy another one I would buy the straight edge blade version in that at least I could sharpen it. I took it to my neighborhood sharpener and told me to just buy a new one because he couldn't sharpen the serrated edge.Customer Review: Great Knife

I bought this knife at a public store. I have had it for two years and I love it! I use it with my flint, and it makes huge sparks! I highly recommend this knife for kids in boy scouts, and camp a fair amount. Overall this is a very good knife.Customer Review: Great Little Knife

Great knife to carry with you. super light but very sharp. get's the job done for your everyday needs like cleaning your finger nails or picking your teeth clean. I originally purchased one of these at a sporting goods store for about $13 and loved it. I work in the IT field, and found it useful for opening packaging, boxes, stripping wires, as well as everyday household chores. Then sadly, I lost it. Searching on Amazon, I found this serrated/straight edge version (the original was straight edge only) and bought both this version, as well as a replacement for the straight edge only knife I'd lost.
I've tried many, many small knives over the years, and this is by far my favorite. The blade is suitably sharp, the serrations are incredibly handy, and the size and weight are perfect for the pocket. Since the blade is only 2.25", "sensitive types" won't think of it as a deadly weapon. When using a reasonable quick sharpener, I've found this knife maintains a good edge. The locking mechanism can be a bit stiff to release, but the knife doesn't pop open unexpectedly in your pocket.
There are a number of knives on the market which may ostensibly be rated as "superior" to this one, but the prices of those knives are hard on the budget. In short, this Gerber paraframe mini is an excellent compromise between price and performance.

I recently bought this knife as a replacement for a smaller one which came with a multi-tool combination at Home Depot around Christmas time. The other knife was so small I carried it all the time and it was constantly coming in handy. Unfortunately I either lost or misplaced it and I was "grieving" for it since I loved it so much. While at an outdoor store recently I took a look at their small knives looking for something similiar to my old one. After looking at this one and the price, I bought it in about a minute--a record for me.
I no longer miss the old one because this one is even better. I especially like the serrated portion of the blade and the strong pocket clip. I am very pleased with my new knife and would highly recommend it to someone looking for a small inexpensive knife to carry around on a daily basis. It is so small, you will forget you have it!
