Tools and Hardware Reviews of Gerber 22-80012 Infinity Ultra Task LED Flashlight, Black

Customer Review: Best 'Lil Light there is.
Summary: 5 Stars

Very simply put, this is the best little flashlight around. Extremely bright--wide coverage of light beam with one LED and a lens.

It uses one cell that lasts forever. I have three of the lights, one of which stays in the car's glovebox.

This one actually out performs my nine LED unit. Easy to carry with you.

Customer Review: Best keychain flashlight
Summary: 5 Stars

It's bright and has a tightly focused beam (great for making shadow pictures
if you have children). It takes one AA battery (which you can easily find, not
some obscure $25 hearing aid battery). If you take off the clip it fits in your
pocket with your keys. Only downside is that the black coating does seem to
rub off. I don't know where it went -- I suppose the washing machine -- but
after a few years of carrying it around you'll end up with a dull metallic-finish
flashlight instead of a black one. Doesn't affect the function (I actually think
it looks better). Great light.

Customer Review: Cool lil' light
Summary: 4 Stars

So I got this thing w/ the Amazon suggestions and while it's a cute little light, that's about it. I bought it thinking it'd be similar to a Surefire but man, I was wrong. Mainly, I just wanted it because I thought it was a thumb press style at the end of the light but nope, it's just a regular twist type. Too bad...

The light itself is just a little LED that's just a little bit brighter than those keychain LED things you see at gas stations next to the Skittles. It does look pretty tough though and looks like it's able to handle some pretty crazy abuse. The twist cap at the rear also looks like it's weather sealed as well. But all in all, it's just a cheap little toy.

Edit-
Ok, so I did a little side-by-side comparison to another LED flashlight that I own and it performs decently. My other one (silver) is a 3-bulb light and runs on these weird style CR2-esque batteries. The Gerber runs on a single AA (easily available), is much more compact, and performs similarly. Oh, and it can function as a thumb press. :) If you twist the back cap 'til the light comes on, then back it off until it goes off, it will then work as a thumb press light. Cool.

Customer Review: Dim but small light
Summary: 3 Stars

This is a small and well constructed light that suffers from 2 flaws. It is dim (which hopefully means it will last a while on one battery) and the way to turn it on and off is by twisting the bottom. The on/off mechanism wouldn't be too bad, but I was hoping to use this light one handed and this is difficult to do. It does provide sufficient light for basic tasks without requiring a new battery every day.

Customer Review: Does the Job
Summary: 5 Stars

I walk my two dogs early every morning, usually before sun up, and this light is with me every day. It is easy to use, simply twist to turn on/off, and has good heft. Since I have to control two dogs while using it, it is important that it is easy to hold and totally reliable. I use it for one or two minutes at a time, virtually every day, and am very impressed at how long the single AA battery lasts--I have have been using it continuously for several years. I also own Fenix, Streamlight, Princeton Tec, and LED Lenser lights, but the Gerber beats them all in this particular day to day use.
