Tools and Hardware Reviews of Gerber 22-80012 Infinity Ultra Task LED Flashlight, BlackCustomer Review: Great little light Summary: 5 Stars
I have been looking at this flashlight for a long time. I read the reviews and was not sure if it would be bright enough. But the price came down and I went ahead and bought it. I was supprised at the quality and how bright it was. I was looking for a flashlight that used AA batteries, had an LED bulb and was rugged. This one fits what I was looking for. I may even buy another one. If you are looking for a small, simple flashlight that will last, you won't go wrong with this one.
Customer Review: Great small task light Summary: 4 Stars
The Gerber flashlight is almost perfect for it's size. It's nicely constructed and feels sturdy. Runs off of one standard AA battery, not a more expensive lithium one. The led is bright, stays bright, and lasts for hours. I have no problem with the tail cap/switch design although it does make turning it on and off a two handed job, but you can push the cap with your thumb for momentary lighting. The only reason I gave it four stars is I thought the LED could stand to be just a bit brighter. Overall a great solid product I use often.
Customer Review: Great tool Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great tool for the price. The light is sufficient for working in dark areas. I carry it in my pocket and use it literally every day, yet I haven't had to change the battery since I bought it several months ago.
Customer Review: Impressive Summary: 4 Stars
I have owned this light for 2 years and have not yet changed the battery. It still has the ultralast alkaline battery; a brand I have never bought, meaning it must have come from Gerber with it. The light it emits is bright, but not extremely bright. I use this light when I go backpacking. I don't really need anything too bright, and normally don't spend much time awake/away from the fire when it's dark and I'm in the backcountry. Used to use headlights, these days this little thing has taken their place. If you wear a hat, you can clip this to the brim and improvise a headlight. Normally I wear a Stetson, this clips extremely well to it and doesn't put too much weight on the brim.
This is not the lightest of flashlights. For its size this thing is heavy. But that is because it is nearly indestructible. Gerber claims you can drop it in up to 10 ft of water. Don't know if thats true as I avoid getting electronics wet, even if they say they can take it. I do know that the screw on has an O ring, and is well greased. It looks like it would keep the water out. The only part that looks slightly vulnerable is the light itself, no cover over the light bulb.
All in all because it is kind of heavy, has no cover over the bulb, and isn't the brightest keep it from 5 stars. Still excellent tho, and still the light I use.
Customer Review: Kinda weak Summary: 3 Stars
Yeah, it's OK for simple tasks in the dark, but not good for what I need. At least I'm not buying special batteries for it. We'll see how long it lasts.
