Customer Review: A pretty decent travel-sized flashlight

I've had a few of the Gerber Recons over the years and have dropped/kicked/destroyed a few of them. They take a good amount of abuse (but like anything, won't survive being dropped in a deep lake.)
The flashlight is bright enough - it's no Fenix, but sometimes you don't need to overpower something just to see. The white light is the strongest, and the red light is decent enough to get around in the dark. Green is pretty decent to read maps in the dark with (this is hardly used), and the blue LED is used for blood/bodily fluids, which, I'm sad to say, I try to avoid (but it IS pretty cool to play CSI with it at a hotel or somewhere dodgy.)
The battery (1 AA) has lasted a long time with this, and I'm happy with this. LEDs are great when it comes to battery life, so you can use it periodically and be relatively confident that it'll work fine.
Bottom line: If you need a flashlight that you'll use a lot and need to have handy for a myriad of uses, you can't go wrong. The price is right, and it'll take a good amount of drops like a pro.
