Maybe if this sprinkler had a spike so you could keep it in the same place it would be useful.
It took forever to get it set close to what I wanted (I have a huge and strangely-shaped oak in the middle of my yard, so I can't place the sprinkler there)
and the second you move it, you really have to reset it all over again. The adjustments weren't fine enough for me either.
And it's not obvious how to adjust it. You raise and lower the red track, and the track *behind* the nozzle determines how far the water shoots in the opposite direction. The higher the track - the shorter the stream. Really *not* intuitive.

No yard too odd for the Pattern Master Pulsating Sprinkler; once it's programmed for a custom watering pattern, it repeats that pattern every time. The Pattern Master is a unique, adjustable sprinkler that waters virtually any shape lawn without wasting water on fences and driveways. This innovative impulse sprinkler waters up to 5,800 square feet and features a 43-foot watering radius. An easy-to-use programming disc adjusts up or down at sixteen positions within a single rotation-cutting the spray short to avoid the flower bed; going a little longer to soak that freshly planted tree; then launching a broad sweep across the far end of the yard so there's no need to relocate the sprinkler down there later. With full rotation control, watering just about any obstacle course of a lawn is possible! The Pattern Master also features an adjust trip-lever and collars for full or partial coverage, a special speed control for even coverage, and a durable sled base for stability.
