Its a great idea and would easily get 5 stars if it worked as it should. First problem is that the instructions are bad. It tells you to push on black plastic to adjust distance but you have to push the red piece up and down. I almost broke it pushing on the black. Second is the clips that turn off the water for some part of the arc dont work. No matter what position they are in it still sprayed in the full circle. Last problem is thaT the sprinkler head gets hung up when red ring is adjusted high causing that spot to get overwatered. I wanted it to work but was a bit dissapointed.Customer Review: Good product, all plastic

I love the way this sprinkler sets up. I provides excellent water coverage, and after experimenting with it, I found it easy to adjust and set up. The only problem I really find with it, is that it is fairly fragile, and broke when my Basset Hound ran over it. I purchased 2 when I ordered, and would buy the sprinkler again.Customer Review: Great Sprinkler

I set up a poor man's sprinkler system with 3 of these and a timer.
The Gilmor is great because you can set a pattern and only water the places you need.
I have noticed you need to over-aim the area and the very end of the sprinkler is't enough to water fully.
Hard Water and the heat from the sun are making them a little worn and brittle but overall these are the first sprinklers on my list to buy

This is the best sprinkler i've ever purchased. don't believe the trash talk. i have owned mine for over four years and it works great. i use it for garden, lawn, and flower beds. has a small screen in the connector to catch any large dirt to prevent clogging. i would definitely suggest the purchase.Customer Review: Great concept, bad product and customer service

I had one of these Pattern Master Impulse units a few years ago and loved it. Bought a new one in March and it works great. Great concept for optimizing water use. Bought two more and they both were defective. The pulse was the same in both the clockwise and counter-clockwise rotations... the short "chatter" pulse typical of the return rotation. Shortens the reach/throw and wastes water. I took them back to the retailer and exchanged for a third unit that performed the same way... very badly... except this one also sticks on a spot in the rotation or fails to rotate at all if the water pressure is above 30 psi.
1 out of 4 worked properly... not good.
I contacted Gilmour by email and asked if there was a tension adjustment on the spring or some other remedy for this. Four days later got a reply that asked me to clarify the description of the problem (as clearly stated above). Each subsequent email reply took two days minimum and they offered no solutions to the problem. My last contact from them was a terse..."there is no remedy for this". It has been 5 days and I have not received a response to my last question.
Great idea poorly executed in an inferior product sold by an apparently unconcerned, unresponsive company. I am returning this last defective sprinkler and suggesting to the retailer that they not carry this or any other Gilmour product. I once was a fan... but no longer. If you buy a Gilmour product, pray that it works and you don't require assistance from the home office.
