Customer Review: Gladiator GarageWorks GACUXXCAVK Claw Advanced Bike Storage v1.0
Summary: 4 Stars

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
The Gladiator Claw Advanced Bike Storage system is recommended for those whom prefer a secure, stable unit with quick access [rather than generic hooks]. It is relatively incomparable to other hanging systems because of its higher quality, usability, and sturdiness.

The price tag is reasonable for such an invention when considering all the components that goes into making such a product. However, installation of this storage system can be somewhat challenging for those non-mechanical with tools, which is why we gave it four stars. After receiving help from a friend, we were able to install the Claw easily.

Customer Review: Gladiator works bike storage v1.0
Summary: 4 Stars

Product was fairly easy to install. Just locate ceiling stud using a studfinder, predrill two holes and mount with included screws. I installed my claw on a 11 foot ceiling which requires a step ladder to get my bike off/on which is kinda of a pain, but at least bike is out of the way. I was a little surprised bike doesn't hang completely vertical and leans to one side...something to think about when choosing mounting location. Overall a little pricey compared to other mounting solutions but neat design and works well so far.

Customer Review: Good Bike Hangar
Summary: 4 Stars

The Gladiator Claw does what it is supposed to do: hang a bike from the ceiling of some structure. I found that this claw works pretty well. It's easy to install, and the claw mechanism works pretty well--it's semi-automatic. You press the wheel up under the claw, and the tire actually pushes the claws apart. They swing back together as the tire hits the stopper that is placed between the claws. To reverse, just press the tire back against the stopper, and the claws retract. Then remove bike. It seems to work well with a clean bike, and right out of the packaging.

However, with all the moving parts, I wonder how good it will be in a couple months of use. From what I can see, I think after awhile, the claw release mechanism might fail, in which you'd be stuck manually opening the claw with your fingers while removing the bike from the ceiling.

Also, you may want to buy two of these--hanging your bike from one wheel is not a healthy way to keep your tires true. This would get five stars if it was instead a claw for the frame instead.

Customer Review: Good Idea, Installation Problems Though
Summary: 3 Stars

Customer review from the Amazon Vine™ Program (What's this?)
On the surface this is a no brainer, there are 4 screw holes so depending on which way you want to mount it you put the screws through one or the other set. However the way that I needed to mount it so that my bike would be parallel to wall to save space forced me to use the holes that are in line with the claws, so I didn't have a way to get a regular screw driver in there. If you use the holes opposite of the claws I'm sure it would be way easier, but if you do have to use those holes this could be a pain, I ended up using a pair of locking vice grips and a Phillips head bit...so it is possible just not very easy.

As far as build quality and ease of use, they are both great, if your bike is heavy it could be a bit of a problem though because my bike is only about 20lbs and it was not all that easy to lift it up and line it up to the plunger. I do like how it saves space and it is easier the traditional bike hooks...if my installation would have gone a little smoother I would have given it 4 stars...I'm sure I'll get over it someday :)
